he's not throwing the money into the ocean

the money will end up in the pockets of contractors and the organisers which will in turn feed the families of those people...the best way to get out of a recession is to stimulate growth with encouraged spending on the consumer's part...

except that the money is all borrowed or printed (because thats what happens when you run a deficit like the US deficit) so it's not actually going to help the situation at all.

Using that logic any money spent by anyone would be borrowed or printed by anyone

This article is the biggest load of bull. Bush spent more on his inauguration than Obama did. They are excluding the cost of security from Bush's numbers but including it in Obama's numbers.

    Bush $42.3 m + security $115m = $157 million
    Obama $45 m + security $105m = $150 million

I'll happily buy a T-shirt, but I don't plan on running for any office beyond precinct chairman (and apparently technology committee chairman, although I'm not sure I ran for that). Now if you flipped the ticket, I could go for that. Vice President is the best job in the country, unless something happens to the Prsident.

Being the one to suggest the ticket, I demand a cushy job with lots of overseas travel and a Cadillac that I can drive drunkenly on my ranch, like LBJ. The ranch that is also on my list of demands, of course.
