Who signed the bills to bailout the banks and auto companies?

    We already have state sponsored:
    fire
police (in fact Houston alone has more than 20 police jurisdictions!!!!)
    health care with medicare.
    retirement with SS.
FDA regulates our food and drugs.
transportation with gas tax to build roads.

About the only major industries in this country that aren't fully run by or regulated by the government is general healthcare, financial sectors and the auto industries. ...and those are doing GREAT in our "free market", huh?

    Just saying.

...this anti socialism sentiment is rather misguided, IMO.

Other people already mentioned what's wrong with your post, but I can't just let it go.

Bush signed off on spending the money for the inauguration, not Obama.

I plan on enjoying the next four years very much.

Wow...what an endorsement. It is undeserved, but I appreciate it all the same.

Is he having nearly 5 times or 6 times the number of people who went to Bush's inaugaration? And so shouldn't the costs be proportionally upscaled?

You certainly do not want $150M of tax money funding the inauguration. Since that is NOT happening, it is a non-issue.

The private donors can spend their money any way they want to.

Your Messiah has not taken a day in office, yet he has an approval ratings already.

    Totally disgusting!

I especially enjoyed this part:Blacks: 96% 3% 1%, when it comes to the political process, African-Americans have zero clue, they will always vote in lock step just think : Marion Barry,William Jefferson , Ray Nagin jr...

Too depressed to be an American these days!

Reported, Rookie. Don't post overtly-racist messages and expect people not to notice. If you don't make generalizations about large groups of the American population, people won't be so quick to call the Republican Party one of hate-mongering, war profiteers, etc. At least gain some humor about your posting, a la T_J. You're just unbearable.

It's been a tough stretch to be sure, and we have some difficult days ahead.

But if you can't appreciate one bit of this uniquely American story that is Barack Obama, I think it says even more about you than your ignorant, angry posts. God bless you, and God bless our incoming POTUS. He will need all the help he can get.

I'm having a great time thinking of how Obama embodies the American dream and having some amusement that there are other Americans who don't have that same idea of the dream in mind but will have to live with it for the next 4-8 years.

He is still a man, but there's so much at stake placed on him from the last guy that the effort will seem superhuman if he succeeds more than he fails.

$150M is well worth it if it brings peace to the middle east

how does obama embody the american dream? If you do actually live the american dream and become succesful you will be taxed alot harder to take care of those who do not work and become succesful like yourself...that's really american. Obama already stated welfare and food stamps will be increasing, hooray more money for the ones who deserve it most right?

your not taxed as hard here than you would be in other comparative countries.

you have a lot more upward mobility here than other comparative countries.

as far as money going to the less fortunate, right now its economics 101. every dollar you give them, they'll actually spend it thus stimulating the economy. and we spend way less on social welfare than other comparative countries.
