What Holder means by "Cop-killer bullets" is Full-metal jacketed bullets. This seems odd to me, because 110 years ago, international law banned anything else for warfare. FMJ are really lousy for defense, but cheap for target practice.
another thread about guns... im kinda on the fence about this one... full auto guns are already banned unless you have a special license. it isnt too hard to convert a semi-auto to a full-auto. so i guess it is reasonable to ban certain semi-auto assault rifles. i dont really like the limits on magazine capacity. especially for handguns. however, if you really need 30 rounds in a handgun magazine, then maybe you need to work on your aim more. instead of a limit of 10 rounds, how about 15? As far as the flow of weapons into mexico... i think thats a bs reason to push this new ban.

If it is easy for someone to convert a semi auto gun into full auto then it is also easy for that person to machine a fully auto gun from scratch. This is a myth that is being used to sell the semi-auto ban.
Or maybe gun dealers and distributors could exercise some restraint and not flood border regions with assault rifles etc when they know where it will end up.
you just have to get the right replacement parts. now getting the license is a whole different story.

The AK47 is made from a plate of sheet metal. If you can drill half the holes you can also drill the rest and make it on your own. The only thing you cannot make is the barrel so the only way to stop that is to ban all guns using rifled barrels.

You can post all the vids you want. The bottom line is it is not easy to a DIY person to do it. Plus you can follow all those instructions but the chance of it working is low. Fully auto is complicated stuff to time correctly. It would be just as easy to make a reciever from scratch.
