Wouldn't ITIS be MORE accurate? Islamic Terrorists of Iraq and Syria. Maybe it's not as catchy? ....... ....... .......
Sadly this is true. While I agree with him on some points, Northside does come across as an insufferable weakling.
As to the speech, exceptional, especially in comparison to what the other Party of importance rolls out there. The tone, demeanor and message is exceptional. He is exceptionally bright, charismatic and likeable. Also he is able to walk the line between being open minded and not coming across as a slack jawed tree hugging wuss.
f**k that, I want the real cheesy s**t. I'm gonna step out of this thread as it seems this is going to lead to some fruitless back-and-forths. y'all keep hard in front of your keyboards
That was big. It's always been implied, but for him to say it explicitly matters a lot. Call it what you want, but by making that statement Obama has pitted the moderates vs the fringe extremists. These people have no place in American or any other modern society. Also kudos to him for rejecting Islamophobia. Some may think it is unnecessary, but I vehemently disagree. It not only serves to unite and further integrate the moderate American Muslims, it is directly anitithetical of what ISIL feeds upon.
We got this, ISIS is contained, be nice to Muslims, let thousands of them in from terrorist countries, none of them are terrorists. Your fears are understandable but irrational, we'll vet them, don't you worry. Oh, and give me your guns.
Nah, je ne veux pas pour des conneries personnelles. 你应该说普通话. Now, if you wanted to speak about the substance of this thread, everything Obama is doing with covert ops and putting "special forces advisors" in combat roles are things he glossed over in this speech, but are immensely more relevant. An administration that prides itself on transparancy wouldn't have said "In both countries, we’re deploying Special Operations Forces who can accelerate that offensive." He would have said "we are deploying Special Operations Forces in combat roles in Iraq and Syria." exactly as America's Kurdish allies have observed has been the case for the last few months. http://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2015/nov/30/kurdish-fighters-us-special-forces-isis-combat Of course, that makes this line rather hollow: "We should not be drawn once more into a long and costly ground war in Iraq or Syria." American troops are already fighting a ground war in Iraq and Syria, it's just under another name and constant denial. This was yet another opportunity for the President to step up for the ideals of open government he campaigned for, yet he failed once more. Anyways, for an administration that has redefined assassination, wiretapping, and whistle-blowers, I'm looking forward to see how they'll continue redefining ground war and combat operations on the ground as "acceleration". Is that "American" enough for you?
obama could have made a bunch of fart noises for a solid 10 minutes and the anti-sheeps would have complained they were not realistic enough to take seriously and pro-sheeps would have said those were the best fart noises they've ever heard, so realistic and powerful for the nation. but let's continue to argue meaningless words. the real words and sentences would never air to the public.
