So you are sticking with that initial definition? Fetuses are souls, and adults are soulless? I don't particularly struggle with that definition; rather I consider it nonsensical. And if you can't even provide me with a coherent and falsifiable definition of what this soul is, why should I consider it any more real that ghosts, leprachauns, jinn, or the like?
children are born with souls....... adults have the ability to be soulless, by giving their souls away. Souls arent lost, they are pawned. my beliefs, of course.
You still haven't defined what it is and how I can find it. Maybe you should go back and look at giddyup's initial definition of the soul to know where we are starting from.
If you can tell me what it is, describe it, and tell me where I can find it, then I will be glad to acknowledge its existence. Often, I see things attributed to a 'soul' that are well understood functional circuits of the brain, but I don't think I've ever seen a comprehensive definition. Mostly the definitions are vague and nebulous. In fact, I often find these descriptions contradict. Say I was to lose my soul. What exactly would be lost? How could I determine that it was gone?
Yes, and I respect you immensley for that Landlord, but are you going to adopt all of these children? That is the point there are a lot of psuedo pro lifers out there that give lip service but would not lift a finger to actually help raise these unborn kids, much less pay for them. It is a major hypocrisy to have to listen to folks push their views off on a women who is struggling and needs her family and friends to help her make the right choice for herself. She has a right to her privacy, and the government has no business being involved in her womb...... DD
if I could adopt all these children, I would. If you think thats lip service, I can understand, I don't take everything people say at face value on the internet. having the legal protection to make a decision like money>child sucks. I know you have read other posts I have made about how young I was when my first child was born. I didn't have any money, I didn't even have a job, I was a freshman in high school. and I'm not saying that everyone should do what I did, I'm just saying that it is possible to raise an un-expected child even when the world you are bringing it into seems pretty grim.
You can. When you attempt to "force" your views on someone else, "you" become something else entirely.
but....Obama is forcing his beliefs on me........??? "forcing" my beliefs is one thing Deckard, the FOCA goes beyond things as simple as ones "beliefs".
At least 50 percent of women giving birth can't (don't want to) handle that pain either (the pain men can't handle). They get an epidural. So how much pain is actually bared? http://www.americanpregnancy.org/labornbirth/epidural.html Furthermore, is the fear of pain a reason for an abortion? Would a woman who gave birth once, be inclined to never go through with it again, simply for that reason? Pain is coped with, man or woman. Pain happens. Men aren't sissies because the don't give birth, which is something a woman's body is designed to do.
