    Totally agree with you.

    This will take time.

This has been done by both American Muslim and Jewish youth in the last few years.

The Palestinians had already agreed to give in on the right of return. Israel still wouldn't make a deal.

I still say the best solution is to give Israel Texas. Kill multiple birds with one stone. Defuse the Middle East, get rid of TX as a state and Israel has 5 times the land they had before.

    Simple

Unbelievable. President Obama just spit in the face of our only true allies in the middle east. As the whole world is starting to turn against Israel, all the end time prophecies of the Bible are coming into focus. A lot of you guys should pay attention.

Naahh, that'd never work: Israel would want Tijuana and Juárez, too. ;)

Just more talk, its always just talk. There would be something to discuss if anyone ever took action, but we know that will never happen.

This is such a hilarious Giddy'esque post.

So... what IS the ratio of American children in Afghanistan to Afhgani children in Afghanistan? I know I'm aching to figure out why the children of America are so well protected in the face of Afghani guerilla fighters.

You realize that al Qaeda attacked within the borders of the United States, don't you? It happened in 2001, sometime in the fall I think. I remember it happened in New York City prior to the World Series.

Your response illustrates my point. Terrorist attacks in Israel are not going to kill the number of people that IDF strikes in the territories do. As a result, the Israelis have killed more Palestinian civilians than vice versa. On the other hand, the Israelis are targeting the militants that oppose them (who have their "bases" among the civilian residential areas), while the Palestinians are targeting civilians on public transit and in cafes (when there are actual IDF military targets available). Simply posting that more Palestinian children and civilians have been killed is ignoring the context and presenting the data with an intentional slant.

Isn't that similar to how they got there though? After WWII they decided they could go back to this land, I guess their ancestors were there initially, so they took away land where literally other people lived and created israel. I realize those tragedies that occurred, wouldn't it have made sense to give them land in Germany where it took place and take it away from Germany rather than an unrelated 3rd party? To say they were there before in as their ancestors is like saying Native Americans deserve half of America back because of how we just took this land

I'm pretty sure 9/11 happened before the war in Afghanistan started. Maybe you need a refresher on the timeline. Comparing the casualty rate of a surprise attack by terrorists in peace time to the casualty rates during an invasion and occupation is in no way an accurate reflection of what's happening in Afghanistan where the war is actively being fought.

You post just highlights the lack of proportional response by Israel to attacks from Palestinians. The truth is that Palestinians are at much higher risk for being assassinated "on accident" than an Israeli is at risk for being killed by a Palestinian attack.

Telling Israel to go back to their legitimate legal borders isn't turning against them. It's doing what's right. If Israel doesn't want the world against it, it may want to stop building settlements, and making laws that discriminate and oppress people based only on their ethnicity.

But as long as the Palestinians use terrorism to try and pursue their goals nobody is really going to be on their side either.

    False. It's actually the reverse.

America is Israel's only ally in the middle east.

I'm sure it has. Just see alot more of it coming from the Palestinian side due to the obvious disparity in "justice" and the position each side is currently in. The Palestinian American youth overall still are much more supportive and connected to the issues of Palestine then are American Jewish youth. That's why in recent years we've seen support grow for Palestine from American liberals as well as cries by Israeli hardliners and supporters that American Jewish youth are losing their ways and need to step up more. The new Jewish youth is alot more willing to part with things they didn't fight for or live through historically. The old Jewish figureheads in power are doing their best to protect Israel's interest as best they can before the inevitable generational shift comes into power.

Well....maybe those Native Americans do deserve their land back? You're not making any argument here.

Yes it did. The military attacks in Afghanistan are the response to the terrorist attack by al Qaeda coming from Afghanistan. Just like the military response by the IDF to terrorist attacks by groups like Hamas coming from the territories. The terrorist attack targets civilians killing a lower number of civilians than the military response, but a higher percentage of the people killed are civilians.

The terrorist attack is part of the war. It is both the casus belli and the first strike. Of course the fighting in the invaded territory is not going to result in a lot of civilian casualties for the invaders, because they are not in harm's way. This is the same with US troops in Afghanistan and with Israeli troops in Gaza or the West Bank. That is the whole point. That is why the numbers without context showing the raw number of civilian casualties is going to be lower for the country responding to the terrorist attacks (fewer of their civilians killed) than for the people who engaged in the terrorist attacks.
As I stated above, the area that launches the terrorist attack is going to suffer disproportionately in terms of raw numbers as compared to the country that launches a military response. Under the law of war, this is not considered a breach of proportionality, because there is the understanding that this is going to be the case. There is no rule in the law of war requiring a 1 to 1 ratio, or any specific ratio for the number of civilians or even people overall killed, there is only a general principle that no more be done in retaliation to an attack than is necessary. Since Hamas continues to fire rockets into Israel, clearly they have not done more than is necessary to end that threat. The Israeli response to Palestinian terrorism is also far more measured than the American response to terrorism originating in Afghanistan.

I'm not sure why anyone would get riled up over this. It's just another in a long line of meaningless speeches about Isreal and Palestine.

    woooo.
