when people get a divorce/separate, it doesn't mean they never loved each other while they were together right?
Very true, but that love is a far cry from the love in traditional sense we all understand, and it's an insult to all the couples who love each other and remain married for many many years, if not all life-long.
I know, right? It makes me so mad when couples break up and then their son still has the nerve to say they loved each other. And then to add insult to injury by saying they even loved America?! That's way over the line. Nobody who has nice things to say about his parents, after they've indulged in bad behavior, should be president. That would be an insult to good people everywhere.
wnes, you're reading way to far into Obama's view of his family and the way he has characterized his family. it doesn't matter, the real estate deal is a far bigger issue. even your email from the political action group is a bigger deal. the simple fact is known of us know the dynamics of a family we are not a part of. for example, and this is sort of wierd that this happened last night, but I hardly ever talk to my brother. he's 11 years older than me, and we don't have that type of relationship. I met my brother last night for dinner and he was mentioning how alot of people including his wife tell him we should talk more because from the outside it looks like we have problems with each other. not to go into personal details any further but the bottom line is my brother loves me and I love him and this is just how our relationship has developed over time and it is what it is. families are very unique in the way the different relationships form in individual families. none of us are able to judge what went on with Obama's parents, none of know, because none of us are involved in that relationship. so we just have to take obama's word for it, and in the end, it really isn't anyone else's business. some people have very open relationships with their parents, some don't, some are very close to siblings, some aren't. it doesn't mean anything regarding an individual's character because you don't know how that relationship evovled, and you don't even know what its like today. bottom line, obama seems like a good husbad to his wife, and if you want to judge his character by personal relationships that's where you need to start. but even that isn't any of our business.
Let's see he believed in it enough to come here, study here. I don't know that it was abandonment so much as divorce. Certainly Obama's folks aren't the first to divorce. All the other stuff is pure guessing by someone. Since his father married a different white woman, then it couldn't have been family racism that added pressure and contributed to the break up etc. It's all just guesses, and I trust Obama's first hand experience over other people guessing about their private family life. Obama is in a better position to know that. These attacks are laughable. So far the attacks on Obama are... 1. He's a Muslim, and atheist, his church is racist, 2. He was involved(though never accused of any wrong doing) with a shady real estate guy 3. Obama's daddy was mean and deserted his family, yet Obama still obviously loved both his parents. 4. Instead of helping a community group clean up asbestos he helped them clean up fiberglass. Of those attacks the only one even close to being a real issue is the real estate one.
Don't forget: 5. He is black. 6. He is a liberal who will destroy America. I personally can't decide which one is worse.
From FactCheck.org Clinton hit back at Obama, reminding voters of his relationship with a longtime contributor who is now under federal indictment. Clinton: ...I was fighting against those ideas when you were practicing law and representing your contributor, Rezko, in his slum landlord business in inner city Chicago. ... CNN's Wolf Blitzer: Senator Clinton made a serious allegation that you worked for a slumlord. And I wonder if you want to respond. Obama: I'm happy to respond. Here's what happened: I was an associate at a law firm that represented a church group that had partnered with this individual to do a project and I did about five hours worth of work on this joint project. That's what she's referring to. According to an investigation last year by the Chicago Sun-Times, Antoin Rezko was involved in developing at least 30 low-income housing buildings in Chicago, in partnership with several community groups and using a combination of taxpayer and private funds. A number of the buildings fell into disrepair, collecting housing code violations, and Rezmar, Rezko's company, was sued on many occasions. Obama was associated with a law firm that represented the community groups working with Rezko on several deals. There's no evidence that Obama spent much time on them, and he never represented Rezko directly. So it was wrong for Clinton to say he was "representing ... Rezko." That's untrue. Obama has known Rezko, however, since he left Harvard Law School, and Rezko has been a major contributor and campaign fundraiser for him since Obama's first campaign for the Illinois state Senate. Earlier , we looked into questions about a land deal in which the two wound up with adjacent parcels. No wrongdoing was found in connection with that transaction, though Obama has said it was "boneheaded" for him to be involved in it when he knew Rezko was under investigation. Rezko has since been indicted on fraud and other charges. Obama, who returned some contributions from Rezko and his associates long ago, returned another $41,000 over the weekend in an effort to distance himself from the businessman.
just read the rest of the site... wow Obama voted "Present" 130 times? Says it was part of manuevering by leadership. Did any other Dems vote "Present" that many times in the Illinois Senate?
I agree. Obama has said some vague nice sounding platitudes about his parents but that's not the basis of his campaign. You (wnes) are making something somewhat tangential to Obama's campaign as something that should sink his candidacy. So yes Obama has said some nice things about his father that as a non-family member Obama Sr. might not have deserved but given the vaguesness of those remarks its not like those indicate dishonesty on Obama Jr.'s part. There's a lot more things more substantial in regard to Obama's candidacy to criticize or praise than this.
What does Norman Hsu and the OP have in common? The only thing that I can think of is that they are both ethical Chinese. Your post has contributed nothing to this thread other than instigating a racial dispute between the posters. Why did you want that? And why are you so insecure about the Chinese posters?
um you're the second person who missed the point. it has nothing to do with hsu being chinese, it has everything to do with hillary being more heavily connected to a more corrupted character.
I am not interested in getting into the political debate here. I just think the ones who brought up the race issue and the ones who keep posting pictures to show the problems that China is facing in other unrelated areas are dumb. Are they trying to censor an ethical Chinese poster from voicing any negative opinion about a political candidate because of the air pollution problem back in China? Who do they think they are to practice censorship here? Either these people are dumb or it just show how insecure they are about the Chinese posters.
i'm not trying to get into a debate, the poster who wrote that post has made one post in this thread. he was just comparing obama's corrupt political contributor to hillary's. hillary's just happens to be chinese. that wasn't the point. he wasn't trying to censor anyone. if you have a problem with those other posters address them, but you're the second person who totally missed oski's point so I responded. it has nothing to do with hsu's race.
Sorry if what you said is right. I missed the point then. Apology to Oski2005. But that KingCheetah definitely fits the profile of the fools that I talked about in my previous post.
I agree. Far more worrisome is the disingenuous way Obama implies that he really didn't know Rezko very well. Impeach Bush.
^Suffice it to say I profiled this type a long time ago. This renegade provincial is most def. OFF my list.
mcmark, you are playing right into Hillary's hands here. I guarantee you she leaked that to Drudge in order to keep Rezko's name in the news. Having a photo taken with Rezko is quite different that receiving huge donations from him, giving charitable 'donations' to Rezko's causes, and pimping him for a sweetheart real estate deal. Team Hillaroid is preying on minds like yours here.
