LOL @ the swearing and personal insults, not to mention the logical fallacy.

The sad truth is Obama Sr. was an irresponsible husband and father, a philanderer, a polygamist, and an alcoholic.

    According to this site:
I mean objectively, why wouldn't most call a father like Obama Sr. a jerk?

Obama Sr. is not running for election, and nobody is condemning Senator Obama for his father's own doings. But why should Obama feel it necessary to mislead us on his paternal heritage? What's wrong with scrutinizing him when he opens himself up for charges of misrepresentation?

Understandably this has become an emotional issue for you as you are clinging dearly to your man. Nobody is infallible, pgab. When your beloved candidate -- someone who champions his own background and character -- starts to show a pattern of less-than-truthfulness (mildly put), you have to wonder if your loyalty towards him is well worth it.

a logical fallacy is judging someone by their father or the fact that they love their father despite his faults. if that's what you use to judge a candidate then maybe democracy isn't best for you because you obviously have no understanding of how to evaluate's someone's credentials.

SevereCr1tic with all due respect, I don't think you've been around long enough to get Sam's sense of humor.

His sense of humor is randomly insulting people from other countries? If it's a sense of of humor, it's a sick one.

I do not mean to be severely critical of your post - however only a lunar Rocket striking Big Yao directly in the head could ruin his career.

What's wrong with evangelicals for Romney? Are you having a problem with inter-faith support?

Moreover, which stated facts in my quote from that link regarding Obama Sr. are false?

This just in: If someone loves their father, and their father wasn't perfect, they should be disqualified for being President.

wnes, your campaign against Obama's father is just plaing ridiculous, and amazingly far from relevant.

You guys don't seem to get it. The red herring is unfriggin' believable.

Obama Sr.'s character as well as his history in and of itself has no bearing on Obama the presidential candidate. However, Senator Obama's portrayals of his parents' relation and their "shared abiding faith in the possibilities of this nation" are dubious and misleading in light of many facts.

Stanley Ann Dunham, a rebellious, atheist white teenager from a very religious and conservative family, not particularly fabulously looking, fell prey to Barack Obama Sr., a congenital womanizer, who was already married with children in the native Africa but concealed his little secret perfectly, for the time being. Kudos to both for breaking the racial prejudice and barrier in the 1950s. I give you that. Was there love at first sight? Probably.

But it might as well be called lust, for the marriage was very short-lived, for "good" reason(s). Senator Obama explained the divorce was due to racism, from both families. Was racism A factor? Possible. However, it does not explain very well that 1) Barack Obama Sr. effortlessly married another white woman a few years later in Africa, and 2) Ann Dunham's family never really rejected a black-skinned offspring in Obama Jr. The alternative and more reasonable explanation is that Ann Dunham divorced her African husband after she discovered he already had a wife and lied to her when they met. Either way, the "improbable love" shared between Obama Jr.'s parents was far less rosy that the Senator and his promoters want you to believe.

"[they] Shared abiding faith in the possibilities of this nation"

Senator Obama, what possibilities are you trying to tell us? That a man from a foreign country can deceitfully (and illegally) marry another woman in the U.S., so long as he conceals his marriage history in his native land? Or that a man can abandon his wife and infant child and leave them for good after he attains some educational and career success?

Look, guys, I am all for a minority candidate if he/she deserves the praise and media hype -- high ethical standard, honesty, etc. In all fairness, Senator Obama has a good record in public service. But as more details have come out (as I have learned), he is shown to have very questionable judgment when dealing with matters related to his personal finance (here is another article questioning Obama's untimely stock portfolio), and be less than truthful about his family background and his own experience. The purpose of stirring up sympathy and invoking admiration among public is so unnecessary. There is nothing he should feel the need to hide. I don't judge Obama's character by judging his paternal parents, but I do judge the Senator by observing how he handles it.
