they refused the construction of the sliver building on west 86th. was that due to media-induced misinformation/ignorance?
Labeling everyone who opposes the idea of the spread of religions which they disagree with (especially by use of non-violent means) as an ignorant bigot is so, so below you.
Hickam field, look it up genius. Sacred like the burlington mother****ing coat factory to you and the rest of your coat worshipping patriotic bigot buttheads.
It's pretty clear that there are a lot of people who do. basso's posts indicate that he's probably in that boat. The fact is that Muslims are continually told to bear the guilt of terrorist attacks and made to feel less American, based on the actions of a handful of individuals. Civil rights infringements and hate crimes against muslims and muslim communities substantiate this fact.
None, you idiot - that's the point - just like the amount of relevance that a sufi shrine in an old burlington coat factory has to September 11, 2001, until the NY Post ass clown brigade started up.
The mosque I attend has been vandalized on a number of occasions. I've walked in their to find spray painted vulgarity and swastikas all over the carpet with trash emptied out in the halls. We've also had swastika's spray painted on our sign outside. Just about every mosque I know in the area has had to deal with hate crimes committed against them. There are hundreds of cases of hate crimes against muslim communities and muslims a year.
so it's your contention that the building of the 9/11 Debris Field Mosque 264 feet from WTC7 is purely coincidental, and has nothing to do with the events of that day?
and those are regrettable. but, as you say, the actions of a handful of individuals, not indicative of a larger problem in american society.
True. Let me ask: why have conservative pundits been conspicuously silent on this point? why doesnt your side come out more fervently condemning anti-Muslim violence and hate?
I find it amazing that some new yorkers who didn't lose any family or anyone close in the attacks still wear 9-11 on their sleaves almost 10 years later. we have several new yorkers on this board and its interesting to see the difference.
Oh yes, the hallowed 264 foot radius around 7 WTC - the building across the street from the actual WTC. have you ever even been south of 42nd street in your entire life? I guess that is my contention - what is your contention? Please tell me what you are contending about this sinister plot.
