What happened to the good ol' republicans that used to say "if the president supports it I support it, that's the American way". I miss them.
It's actually interesting for 2 reasons: 1) Your definition of flying "through" = flying over and renders all of manhattan and most of queens into "ground zero" 2) the first plane struck the north tower on the north side, accordingly since the burlington coat factory is south of rector street, there's no way it could have been in the flight path (flown through). So you're wrong - good job, 9-11 keeper of the flame!
that poll notwithstanding, it sure appears that there is a lot of ire directed at obama over his comments.
It's funny (not really) that we recently got involved in 2 wars to supposedly fight for freedom. That's what America is all about remember? We fight FOR freedom. Freedom to vote, freedom of speech, and yes....even freedom of religion. We've fought for this many many times (wars) since the founding of this country. Hundreds of thousands have sacraficed their lives for these freedoms. Yet, here we are questioning the exact same values. If that cliche of "if you don't do such and such, the terrorist win" ever applies to a situation so perfectly, the rejection of allowing this mosque to be built would be it.
who is questioning said values? not the mosque opponents, who have question the "taste" of building the mosque in that location but never the right to do so. the only ones making that argument are those such as Obama and Batman who want to obfuscate the real issue and so tar their opponents as xenophobes and racists.
No, the plane flew through the building as in right in the middle of it. If you are curious as to how this is possible when the plane hit the north side of World Trade Center, I could easily come up with some scenarios but I have no idea how correct they would be. If my belief that the plane hit the building is wrong, then what destroyed the Burlington Coat Factory on 9/11? And also would it really matter? The lot was destroyed during the attacks, does that not qualify it for being part of Ground Zero?
He shouldn't of said anything to begin with, but if he had to say something it should of been "I disapprove of the building of this mosque, but they have every right to do so." These two reason I believe to be the cause of the ire.
you might want to do a little more research on this. neither plane hit anything until they hit the towers.
you don't think he would have been asked?? he said that he didn't want to comment on the wisdom of it (which sounded like a nice way of saying, "i don't think it's such a great idea") but then went on to say exactly what you'd have him say...that they have every right to do so. and for this, the republicans were having a field day on Sunday morning shows talking about how this would kill Dems in midterms and doom him to one term.
Yes they have, they did, and That's why the mosque opponents (who I imagine are registered republicans like you) like the ACLJ went to the city landmark commision to try to shut it down, and are currently trying to ifnd a way to stop it in state court. They openly admit to this: http://www.aclj.org/TrialNotebook/Read.aspx?ID=982 Why did you feel the need to lie to us? Are you embarrassed by this?
YEah, the Burlington coat factory wasn't 100 stories tall genius. No planes flew into it. "Oh we will destroy all the american's low price coats! then they will freeze or pay retail...MUHUAUAHAHAHAH!"
according to the link Sam just posted: the landing gear of one of the hijacked planes from 9-11 crashed through the roof of the building.
yeah, you're right. "no, the plane flew through the building as in right in the middle of it" is the same exact thing as landing gear hitting the building after the plane exploded. oh and i know you are, but what am i?
