Because it's fake. The video is playing backwards. That's why there is no audio, because the voices playing backwards would be a dead giveaway.

All that happened was a rocket took off...and maybe they slowed the framerate down a little bit. The video editing skilz to achieve that is elementary. People do effects like that to pr0n all the time.

You can't be serious? LOL. You don't launch rockets like that..............There is no launch pad equipment in that video.

I work for NASA. Trust me when I say NASA has the balls and the expertise. All it needs is the directive from the presidency and the money to make it happen.

We have been stuck in LEO for far too long thanks to politicians from both parties who have failed to make space a priority.

Push forward with human inclination for discovery and to learn new things. I'm also pretty sure there are all kinds of values with the technology and methods created out of necessity in pushing this boundary.

Much rather invest in something like this than a boring wall.

Got to agree that the money is better spent here on Earth, not by Trump, unfortunately.

'learn new things'. lol. In other words, you don't know how it will help humanity. There is a reason private companies don't invest in space travel, after man-made satellites, there really isn't much value seen in space travel. Exploring uncharted waters is fun and exciting, but not very useful to anyone. Your response confirms this.

when Columbus went on his ship to explore... and learn of the new world.

lol, so when I state "i'm also pretty sure all kinds of values with the technology and methods created out of necessity...", that to you mean that I confirmed there is no value? It's you confirming yourself to be point of ignoring what I stated.

Private companies already received billions in returns on the components, systems and applications from unmanned/manned space flight. Gov-private partnerships are what made it happen and developed hosts of new technologies.

he went for resources. gold, spices, land, etc... What resources are you thinking we will get form traveling to space? what value will these resources have?

Because you make no sense. You argument is space travel is important because hopefully the technology will be valuable for things that actually do impact humanity but not space travel.........

lets spend tax payer dollars on investigating ants. We could 'learn new stuff' and maybe some of the technology used to study ants will be valuable somewhere else......

that would be my point. tax payer dollars, not private company investments.

I guess it's a chicken and the egg question. Do we get modern telecommunications without tax dollars?

of course. do you know how much private telecom companies are making? massive bucks. everyone has a cellphone. IF there is a need then some private company is gonna fill it. There is no need for space travel. At least nobody here has made that case.

    I didn't say hopefully. I said I'm pretty sure.

It said something when you read "pretty sure" as "hopefully". It's your own take and ignoring what I said.

Space program creates all kind of new technologies in the past and continue to do so today. It's not all all far fetch to think that it will continue to do so and even expand when pushing boundary for a very challenging new mission. You either didn't know this, or if you did, you don't care.

Sure you can get value by spending billions on a space mission. But what could you get for those billions if you spent it on, say, college scholarships? Of course spending those billions on a Mexican Wall or machines guns is idiotic. But I'm sure we can find lots of ideas that are not idiotic and are much more productive than "inspirational" missions.
