The Army wants to remain neutral when it comes to politics. I don't think they care who wins. They'd do the same thing if this was McCain.

The army spokesperson didn't just say the email was generally wrong. She pointed out a specific easily verifiable error in the email. (The email said Obama shunned the soldiers to go take publicity pictures playing basketball in the "Clamshell". The Army spokesperson said Obama didn't even visit the "Clamshell".)

Are you saying the Army spokesperson is lying about something like this, that can be checked so easily,to remain neutral? That makes absolutely no sense.

So either the email contains lies. Or the Army spokesperson is lying about the email and doing so in a way that can be easily refuted.

Take your pick.

 

Actually, I find T_J's posts to be an informative counterweight to the more numerous obverse sentiments expressed in a free and open forum.

 

Can you guys ask the teacher to postpone naptime and tell you what this means? Obviously none of you do since you pass right over it in the article.

It is independently difficult to verify the details of the recounted above because the press coverage was severely limited but according to the Army spokesman they are false.

We have to take the Army's word on this one....and they wouldn't have any reason to want to punish a soldier for making politcal comments when as the LT Colonel stated is barred by uniformed personell. Nor would they pressure the soldier to recant what he wrote.

They soldier could be full of it but you can't discount that the Army wouldn't cover up violation of their code.

 

Once again, please provide some proof and please reread gifford's post.

Seriously, these Rush Limbaugh tricks and plays on words and arguments that are based off of assumptions that are ungrounded for the most part must stop. I'm sick of it. Listen to NPR, not Rush. And while I disagree with a lot of the perspectives there, at least they are giving an honest take on their beliefs and not always trying to obsfucate arguments for the sake of political gain. Truth does not lie in shoddy arguments and crappy assumptions.

Grow up and become a real conservative.

 

I hate to pile on here but I agree with Twhy77 you're doing a big disservice to opponents of Obama. As Pgabriel and Batman Jones will tell you I'm not remotely an Obamaniac and get fed up with the fawning over Obama quite abit but to cling to something like this when there is far far more substantive and relavent things to critize him on is not helping your overall argument against Obama. Further your argument that its really a conspiracy by the army to cover up the truth isn't helping either.

Although that line of defense does seem to be getting more common these days in the D & D..

Let's look at this in entirety

As I said before...

1. I said take the e-mail for what it's worth (and I said I thought this type of behavior was typical of Obama and you can't deny the Snobama image has long been out there with Obama.)

2. I never said the e-mail was a fact.

3. It was said the e-mail never existed (that was proved wrong)

4. I said this would be something that the Army would cover up of it were true. (My opinion and the army has hid things from the public before. Sometimes for our own good.) I gave reasons why the Army would cover it up and why the soldier would recant.

5. This soldier may have gotten snubbed personally by Obama and jumped to conclusions on some of the things he wrote. He may have been erroneously told by someone else where Obama went after he snubbed him. He may have made all of this up.

6. What I have said is that the Army would not verify something like this. You can say I'm wrong, that's your perogative.
