Free speech should always be protected. There's only one exception - when that speech is used as a primary purpose as a means to cause harm to or intimidate others.

Yelling fire in a movie theatre. Saying you have a bomb in an airport. Burning an effigy of a black person in front of their house on the street. All of these are easy cases to say it's not protected.

Can the case be made that protesting a funeral has no purpose other than to cause pain to others? That's the question. I am not entirely sure, but I think the primary purpose is to cause pain and to intimidate, not to protest a war.

People should have a right to bury their loved ones in peace. It's a shame that others would not respect that and that a law even needs contemplating.

You might want to get started worrying then, since time place & manner restriction has been around since 1941.

Maybe some of W's old Free Speech Zones could be used?

I don't think TJ, bigtexx, et al., had a problem with them in the past.

You are aware that Politifact is run by a Democrat correct? Kinda throws into question their cred... but so be it.

The fact of the matter remains that the Ohio Legislature granted military voters and their families extra days to vote. The Obama campaign is suing to challenge this law. Those are just the facts. It also could create a precedent to restrict military votes nationwide. It's playing politics with the brave men and women that serve in our military, and it's outrageous. Obama knows that the military leans Republican (and they also know that Obama is a total weakling as CinC and want him out). So this is yet another attempt to suppress Republican votes -- typical Axelrod.

Obama would rather have no-ID, no-work, uninformed welfare recipients looking for their next fix in line at those polling locations ready to cast a straight ticket Dem vote than a Sergeant in the Army who has served several tours of duty.

I'm sorry that you don't like what you see when we show you the ugly side of Obama's deceptions.

I don't really like the rabbit trail we've gone down regarding free speech. Free speech meaning you can go do your public speaking on whatever public property you want just because it's public was a bad choice. Letting free speech mean you can have anonymous speech seems like a bad idea to me. Equating money to speech and giving corporate entities speech rights like citizens is a bad choice, imo. I'm not really one of those guys that holds unfettered free speech sacred. Access to forums of speech shouldn't be unreasonably or discriminatorily denied. But, I don't like that we (the government) bend over backwards to not only allow free speech but to create and provide the venues and forums to do it. Call me a tyrant if you want.

As for the law, it'll probably get struck down. But, anything to increase the trouble we create for the jerks at Westboro is okay with me in the meantime.

Your grasp of facts is very weak, indeed.

Given your persona, I can't be bothered to actually dredge out the details of the suit. Suffice it to say that everything you write here is a contrived fabricaiton, and I invite EVERYONE to examine the suit in question.

You might as well admit that you can't 'dredge out the details' because they don't exist and you can't argue with truth.

Oh no, a simple Google search suffices.

I'll let those with basic internet literacy find their way.

In the meanwhile, repeating a lie doesn't make it a truth.

This is a bad idea. I wish Obama would stop pandering to conservatives. They're not going to vote for him. They think he's satan.

How many welfare recipients do you think vote? Furthermore, why are you putting down people who rely on government assistance? The lazy stereotype isn't valid; in many instances they're trying to support a family while working dead end jobs/in a dead job market. You should feel sorry for these people rather than mock them.

Does bolding a statement make it true?

The guy just posted an article which pretty much invalidated everything you've said thus far in this thread, you should just stop.

You have the most skewed perception of the world.

the only thing that's being attempted to be roasted here is reality. Problem is that you and your buddy TJ are using glo sticks to do a roast and everyone is just laughing at you both.

TJ and Texxx's schtick is more entertaining when there is at least a modicum of intelligence involved.

Why to they hate Americans? Do they not want the extra days, which were extended to the military service men and women, extended for everyone? Are they only interested in the rights of the military and not in the rights of everyday Americans?

What is it about American civilians that they despise that would lead them to support limiting their voting access while extending that access to the military?

I think they are afraid of democracy. That if all the minorities vote they will realize that America will never be the same place. Their party will be cooked and done. And will have to shift ever further to the left.

Their only hope is to repress voter turnout. They hope to win the change in laws by attacking those who oppose them as against military families. Very Orwellian and quite a brilliant strategy by the RNC. But it is so diabolical that if people catch on it could backfire in a big way.

The guys just get the talking points and like a Robot (no offense) repeat what they are told. The "T" in TJ does not stand for thinking, and BigTexxx = BigTrolll
