Again we know that oil production under Obama is higher than it was under Bush.

If you'd like to give specifics on how the the actions you mention directly affected the recent prices of gasoline and how much they affected it, then I'd love to see it.

You can read some of your comment here:

You have no idea the collateral damage this did especially to the support industries that rely on the gulf to be open. This admin made decisions that cost a lot of people jobs in the middle of the recession and more specifically for companies involved in oil & gas support roles in more shallow rig operations like sandblasting, helicopter flights, tug boats ect. Most of these businesses are not mega corps who can enjoy huge tax benefits thanks to the US tax code but were locally owned and operated companies. Yes, oil production may be up overall, but all these regulations did was further consolidate which companies were the winners [big multi-national corps] and which companies were the losers [privately held companies].

Why don't you quantify this damage then, net after the lifting of the ban?

Also why are you afraid of a little big fish eat little fish capitalism? Kind of makes you sound like a socialist.

It doesn't refute the fact that we produce more domestic oil under Mr Obama than under GWB.

"The president would like us to believe that U.S. oil production under his watch is at an all-time high. However, Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchinson set the record straight: “Offshore drilling permits are being issued at less than half the rate of the previous administration. The average number of leases issued on public lands is less than half than during President Clinton’s term.”"

on federal land (area Obama has control) oil production is down 14%. It's up on state/local/private land. Oil production has increased in spite of Obama.

So bad things happen because of Obama. Good things happen in spite of him. Gotcha.

I'm arguing that the playing field isn't level for the little fish. If it were, then that'd be a version of capitalism I could support. I think it's rigged by the big fish and their partners in government. The topic came up whether regulations hurt the oil & gas industry. I know they did, the likes of which are in that link and to which I share relationships with business owners who felt the pain but also the big fish have access to benefits the little fish didn't [tax breaks, loop holes, bans that didn't affect as much their scope of drilling & operations] to ride the storm.

As for your question, $17.8 billion ;)

so any criticism of OBama is unreasonable. Gotcha

You know oil production on federal land is down. You know he has banned drilling in multiple parts of the country. What don't you get?

I will not refute that and that is a great thing now.

This article sums up the feelings from the prior 2 years of a lot of the individuals I talk with who work in the O&G industry here in Houston in addition to the link I provided earlier. Just sleezy back office dealing of our political elite.

But you Brits can survive without a car. That's not easy for Americans outside the Northeast, and is basically impossible in Houston in particular.

Yeah, I want to see how US oil supply affect world oil prices given that America is a piss in the bucket. Give me a correlation. I can give you much better ones for spurious world events such as, hmm Lehman's bankruptcy.

You clearly don't know how markets work if you think the President of the United States through the small leverage he does have on American oil supply affects prices significantly. In fact, Ben Bernanke and Janet Yellen and all the good FOMC boys probably affect them significantly more than the President could ever hope for.
