No they're not. The only people who are buying this are the wingnuts. McCain fell right into the trap. Notice how the Obama camp had the Hillary healthcare quote cocked and loaded?

well I feel like if it was not against her what is the joke?

And I am talking about the crowds reaction at the speech. Not this reaction of outrage.

It reminds me when Rush referenced the white house dog then showed a picture of chelsea clinton. He claimed it was a mistake and he meant to show a picture of "Buddy" but with Buddy what is the joke?

It's a saying that's been around for years. He didn't just come up with it yesterday. This is just another example of the McCain campaign trying to steer voters away from the issues since they've already admitted that their campaign will not be about the issues.

Sadly, I'm not as optimistic as the rest that it'll work. We all saw how well the smear on a war veteran worked last time. America has shown that it doesn't care about the issues.

Why did the crowd react to hard to the lipstick and give nothing to the "old fish" comment?

Its obvious that is was the wrong thing to say.

I honestly think the audience knew what obama was saying, its the same old republicans issues dressed up as reformer/change whatever. its a commonly used cliche, not even a joke.

the limbaugh analogy is not applicable, it wasn't a mistake by obama, he knew exactly what he was saying and what he meant, and he assumed (which he should never do) that the audience (there or the ultimate electorate) would know what he meant.

can we not tell by the audiences reaction that no matter what his intentions are that the comment stirred the crap?

You know it's bad for Obama when he has to call a press conference to respond to the lipstick/pig labeling...LOL...

So, can the Republicans give Obama a list of what he can and cannot say.

I've never heard a whinier group of people than the Republicans. So ****ing what if it was a dig at Palin? Republicans are like that bully in elementary school who loves to pick on everyone, yet the second they're picked on themselves, they go running to the principal's office crying their sad little eyes out.

It's pathetic mainly because so many idiots buy it. It's why this country gets what it deserves.

caseyh, this is where your arguments start to get ridiculous. whenever you make a comment like that its supposed to get a reaction. the reaction is to the cliche (lipstick on pig, ie same old republican politics) not to palin being a pig. you know that and you are purposely being ridiculous now by suggesting that politicians shouldn't say things to get a reaction.

I think this is your real argument. You don;t think there is anything wrong with sexist remarks. Just say that. I have nothing to counter that since its your opinion.

That's right! we deserve new leadership like Palin...(and dare I say mcCain to some degree) We deserve a leader who will do for us what has been done for Alaska...Change things up!...and not just talk of "change"...Obama is smelling the fear...His eyes are watering...He is calling out his 527 cronies to smear while it appearing his hands are clean...he is calling press conferences to respond to the lipstick/pig labeling...The message is lost...

Fear the Palin mode is evident...It's real!

My point is if it was just a pumped up crown why did they not also cheer about the "old fish in newspaper"?

I am not saying Obama did it on purpose (it is possible his speech writer did with the Lipticked up pig) but when you see a crowd go crazy after a normal comment in a speech and then not react to a similar comment made you can see the reason.

No, I have a huge problem with sexist remarks when they're actually made. What I do have a problem with is this faux indignation on the part of Republicans at any dig towards their candidates when they're the ones who've mastered the very thing they're criticizing.

The Republicans have already said that this campaign is not about the issues to them. This just proves it. Good luck America, you're going to need it.

I'm guessing he used it because he's used it before. Quit acting like he just made this quote up yesterday.

You know it's bad when your VP candidate would pee in her pants if she actually faced a presser.

I don't think your two statements agree.

So any dig at Palin is considered sexist? If so, then you would also agree that any dig at Obama is racist, correct?

I saw a group of remarks about him on the Daily show trying to show all the "racist" comments and one was in there where they just said his middle name. If thats racist then calling a female a pig is certainly sexist.

It goes with my other point. They whine and whine and whine anytime they perceive the race card is being used, but then whine about sexism when people have valid questions regarding her views. It's pathetic only because people actually buy it.
