Most people knew EXACTLY what he was referring to. Apparently some people are under the mistaken impression that he was actually calling Palin a pig.

It's bizarre! Obama gave a great speech on education and even admitted that he would consider a compromise that would increase voucher programs for students (a major republican talking point) and all we hear about is the lipstick quote. I just don’t get it!

The Republicans have NO issue to stand on, they are the "Defensive attack" campaign.

All they are doing is lying, and exagerating, and attacking with lies.....

I am still waiting on the "How our policies differ from GWBush speech"...but I am not holding my breath.

This campaign is not about issues. No campaign involving republicans ever is. They have no issues to stand on.

Really? Really? Is this really what you are trying to go with here? Can you stop pretending to not get it, please? If I explain this is there even the slightest chance that you will say "oh, I see, yes let's move on" or will you find another reason to say it was an insult by Obama? Does it hurt your brain to pretend to be this dense?

McCain was talking about Hillary's healthcare proposal. He said it's the same thing the Clintons tried in the 90s. The 90's proposal is the pig, the new one is the pig with lipstick.

Obama was talking about the McCain campaign's new message of "Change." Obama is saying they don't represent change, his record of supporting Bush's policies is the pig, now saying he represents change when he's supported the status quo is putting lipstick on the pig of his record.

Can't you at least admit that it's the McCain campaign using shrewd politics and that you personally know it's not a real insult aimed at Palin? I posted a clip with the context that shows he was talking about McCain's message of change, your clip cuts all of that out only showing the actual use of the idiom.

Yep, I agree, they are doing the only thing they can to give them a chance.

What they have to hope is that it holds up over the next 8 weeks and that the American public doesn't take the time to actually ask McCain about his positions, because they are identical to Bush.

But, this is the same America that voted GW into a 2nd term after a staggeringly horrid first term.

    So, you never know...

If that's true why were people like Limbaugh doing everything they could to keep him out of the position he's in right now? Have you even compared there positions or are you just drinking the Obama "change" kool-aid?

You can't be serious, of course I have compared their positions, and McCain is almost identical on the important issues:

    Taxes, Education, Health Care, Economy.

It is why I favor Obama.....

It is really strange, it used to be the Republican party that wanted to keep jobs in America, now it is the democrats who want that....

The republicans have put in incentives for companies to take American jobs overseas......to the tune of $30 billion. Why not give tax cuts to companies keeping jobs IN America?

We don't need to go completely protectionist, but we need to look at it some....equal access to China and India.....for American products.

As an example a plant that makes mini vans closed down and moved to Canada.....now the workers are the same, same wages, same productivity, same cost of running the factory, but GM could sell those mini vans for 14% more profit because Canada has a national healthcare program and they don't have healthcare costs tacked on to everyone.

These are the kinds of things we need to be fixing here in the USA.....did you know we are the ONLY Western style of country without a national healthcare program?

The healthcare system needs a major overhaul.....

Foas, you are apparenty confusing 2008 Candidate McCain with 2000 Senator McCain - you should compare their positions to see how different they are.

So a woman would rather call herself a female dog than a pig?

I don't think Palin is fat at all.

if it was not a remark that was obviously pointed at Palin why did it get so much of a reaction?
