I think so because the economy won't turn around in the next 2 years. Forecasts are another 18 months at least. With a weak economy and continued concerns about deficits - Obama is toast.

Clinton had an economy on the turnaround.

That's pretty bad - makes Obama look like some dumb crack user from the ghetto. Total racial stereotype on that one.

As long as the arrow is pointed up people will be happy. Also his approval rate is 45%. A heavy campaign easily gets him to 50% which is all an incumbent president needs.

According to this report, jobless rate won't drop to 6 until the end of the decade.

I don't think its going to budge much in the next 2 years. I don't anticipate the reps to do anything but cut taxes and try and make Obama look bad the next couple of years. It's up to the him and the dems to show themselves. If they want to sit back and fight about everything but jobs, then I don't see how American won't come back for a 2nd wave. They are still in power and the buck stops there. Their/his only way out is for them to get put forth a job oriented plan.

totally missed this discussion, but really, my point, and that of the cartoon, was Obama cutting and running after the election. the pic looked exactly like Obama's "sad face" from the presser wednesday.

Pgabs, the only thing raaaycisss here is your insistance on seeing Obama as a black president, rather than as the president.

I think predicting when the economy is going to turn around is harder than predicting whether an incumbent will stay in office.

I completely agree. Not saying that there aren't racist depictions of Obama but I am just not seeing it here. It looks to me like a bad copy and paste job.

I've been trying not to comment on an image posted by someone I have on ignore, but decided I should. To me, it looks like the lower part of another face, perhaps that of Bart Simpson, was glommed onto the President's. That it makes the President look "shifty" and a bit of a "lowlife" was clearly the intent of the author of the image, in my opinion.

If we run a surplus and the add a milliion jobs between now and 2012 - I think Obama has a chance for sure.

But neither of those are going to happen. I think Obama is out ala Bush I.

Obama was doomed to be a 1 term prez. Anyone elected in 2008 would have that fate.

Wasn't hard to predict that after the financial crisis the economy would be crapola for a while ya know.

Our economy isn't going to get better anytime soon. History and current trends all point in that direction.

This is going to be a very long ride.

it's really obvious - it doesn't even look like Obama. It's clearly trying to show him in a poor light.

He looks like a homeless person in those pictures. It's obvious to me.

Showing your bias. Krugman was correct here in his economics as he often is.

You shouldn't just ignore his correct facts because he isn't constantly trying to be mild mannered.

I do. You can't be that dumb. No credibility. I instantly saw it as racist.

I agree that it is meant to make him look "shifty" or like a "lowlife" but I don't see why that is racist?

I'm not saying Krugman wasn't correct just saying he's not going to sway Congressional Repubs.
