The exaggerated look appears to be Obama's oh noez face.

And that "cartoon" doesn't appear to be a drawing, but rather using a real photo that's just been poorly chopped black and white...

I don't see it as intentional, just a B&W Photoshop that didn't come out well and the Photoshopper didn't care enough to get a better image.

Honestly, come on PGABS. Look at the pictures being posted in here of Obama. I'll put them in one post for you so you can easily reference. Obama can make some pretty distorted faces, just like Bush could. It's kind of crazy if political cartoonists aren't allowed to use Obama's distorted faces without being called racists when Bush faces were directly to compared to animals.

It is obviously a black and white rotoscope with low resolution.

I think that looks more like Dave Chappelle than Obama.

As suspect as I am about some of basso's sources, I tend to agree with GR. The cartoon is offensive because it's false, and not funny, and repeated too many times here...but i just don't see it in the artwork. There's a slight shadow that I think is the bottom lip -- the larger area is just the space between the mouth and the shading for the chin? I don't even think its a puffing out thing. Possibly it's just an image from a photo -- I'm guessing the artists drawing skills are as lazy as his narrative.

So why did the same source not use a similar "racist" technique with this example?

So, as a result of him being black, cartoonists are not allowed to attempt to make him look sinister in any political cartoons because of racist implications? They must always use pictures where he is smiling and no "black man features" are exaggerated?

Having black presidents is a great change then, because I know I got tired of all the evil Bush artwork.
