lol you missed the whole point. Obama didn't release the info that tells the other side of the story.
First of all, it was Nick Berg and Daniel Pearl. They were killed because that's just what happens when you are Jewish and captured by Islamic extremists. They did not behead them for any information... they did it for a shock factor so you wouldn't forget. With all that being said, this does not justify any form of brutal torture for the means of security and intelligence. We can not stoop to their level because every report of us waterboarding, electrocuting, etc. will just create more propaganda for the extremist cause. Here is an excerpt from a CNN article today: "(CNN) -- Amir was a salesman before being arrested and taken to the infamous Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq in 2003. During his time there, he says, he was forced to lay down in urine and feces, stay naked in his cell for days, and "howl like dogs do" while being pulled by a dog leash. According to his accounts, he was also sodomized with a broomstick and had his genitals stepped on." link
You don't even know if there is another side of the story. Dick Cheney has zero credibility. If Dick wanted to, he could have released the memos. He chose not to. Now he's whining and crying about something that we don't even know exists. What we do know is what I've stated earlier. Using methods other than waterboarding we discovered who the mastermind behind 9/11 was. Using waterboarding we halted all useful intel. We also know that People attacked and killed American troops because of our torture.
I see what you did there. You do it almost every post. You reply without any substance or evidential support at all.
You leap to illogical conclusions and try to pass it off as fact. You're one of the worst on the board at this.
I’ll chip in my 2 cents on this. Gitmo is almost universally seen as both illegal and immoral, and as such it strengthens the case of those who say that the US is immoral, including the terrorists. The important point here is not the impact that this has on the real radicals, because like the radicals here - Basso, TJ, and texxx – they don’t care about the truth, and if this issue didn’t exist they would make another one up. The big impact is on the hearts and minds of the average citizens. That’s where the real power lies. Most people here can see through the tricks and lies of our shameless trio of deceivers, and a lot of people in those countries can see through the lies of their radicals as well, but Gitmo is truly illegal and immoral and therefore it has a much bigger impact, and it tends to legitimize the other things their radicals tell them. “If the US is really doing this, then is the rest of it true as well?” What happened at Gitmo was not only immoral, but it was extremely damaging as well.
Then point out why any of my conclusions is illogical. Provide evidence to back up your claim. I didn't actually even make any conclusions. I merely am stating what was said before the Senate panel by interrogators as well as written about by other interrogators. You aren't providing any evidence or support for anything. Almost all of your posts lack any kind of substance. Either bring the substance or pull the kind of disappearing acts that you and TJ are famous for.
i wasn't trying to be funny. i was just calling him a dick. which he is. as would any former administration member be, republican or democrat, if they were hell bent on trying to undermine the current leaders of our country. country first...unless you're the dick.
Sorry, I don't sit in front of a computer posting all day, only being interrupted when people ask me to make coffee or run copies.
^ That must be why this embarrassment (http://jorgemagnanimo.wordpress.com/) hasn't been updated in a while. He's too "busy."
Hats off to you, King Cheetah, for knowing that Batman would eventually break his word. PRESCIENT COMMENT
