Can you describe more of the torture McCain endured? With all the trauma endured as a POW, even admittedly breaking under the stress, I seriously worry about his ability to lead. Post traumatic stress can be debilitating in a crisis.
The amazing thing is that Mr. Credibility is in the Ike threads claiming the storm was no big knock out blow while they are saying 2 weeks maybe more without power, lives lost, houses gone along the coast, windows missing in the thousands in downtown, gas lines, etc. major buildings burned to the ground and gone, Galveston landmarks that survived major storm in years past now completely destroyed and major infrastructure damage, "don't come home until Monday" in Brazoria county... but he keeps touting this as "not the knockout blow" - NO cred in reality. Welcome to the liberal left life. ZERO
Obamafan Others called him out in that thread. I'm just proving my point using similar logic he uses. If there is no logic in one point, he can't have any valid points. Fair game on a public message board, right? Instead of making dubious claims from afar, in a place with no impact... post helpful information.. and be a leader. EDIT: New damage esitmate $81,000,000,000 TWICE that of Katrina. Way to call it a non-knockout.
Way to use a natural disaster to try and score some sort of political point on a basketball BBS. You have no shame at all. Add this to the disgusting 9/11 thread started by one of your brethern to the evidence that all you guys care about is winning elections.
Funny. You misspelled "brethren." Oh, and tell the so-called "Dem's" to stop talking about Katrina as a "Bush Administration" negative. Ooops. Hello? No administration can over step the laws of a state and how it asks, or does not ask, for FEMA and/or Fed help. That was Louisiana's governor's call. Regardless of what "Brownie" did or didn't do/ People in the know will tell you the same. I took relief help to the NOLA area... I know from talking personally to the people in the situation... Most of them knew it was a state blunder... that's why they replaced the state level leadership with a vote. Furthermore, the system we had in place at the time would have probably failed under anyone. It was a wake up call. A sad one, but it might have worked wonders for future natural disasters. We have to get the positives out of it that we can. As to my slam of an interweb guru, touting that they know how to "lead" people, and challenging others to provide info on their leadership... Why do you care? I care because it's the usual, unfounded personal attack of a sort that leaves the burdens of "proof" on the attackers. It's the principal of it all. I'm compelled to respond. And as for me, I don't lead by talk alone either. Have a nice day.
Mr US of A I have been following American politics since the days of Hilary vs obama and mccain vs romney vs Huckabee I have a tv right infront of me at work where I watch anything thats broadcasted. I read news articles, and forums such as this where both sides give thier opinons I have US collegues as well as other collegues who I discuss this election with since its very interesting (much more interesting than the australian elections) So no, this is not from a guy who watched the news every now and then and decided to chime in because he has too much time on his hands. While I am less knowledgable than alot of the US posters here about US politics, I do however think that I have gained enough insight to voice my opinon.
Don't even know why I bothered as you completely missed the point. But you so got me on a spelling mistake. You go IROC it!!!
Funny. You misused "principal." I'm compelled to respond. Definitions of principal: * the original amount of a debt on which interest is calculated * the educator who has executive authority for a school; "she sent unruly pupils to see the principal" * star: an actor who plays a principal role * capital as contrasted with the income derived from it * (criminal law) any person involved in a criminal offense, regardless of whether the person profits from such involvement * chief(a): most important element; "the chief aim of living"; "the main doors were of solid glass"; "the principal rivers of America"; "the principal example"; "policemen were primary targets"; "the master bedroom"; "a master switch" Definitions of principle: * a basic generalization that is accepted as true and that can be used as a basis for reasoning or conduct; "their principles of composition ... * a rule or standard especially of good behavior; "a man of principle"; "he will not violate his principles" * a basic truth or law or assumption; "the principles of democracy" * a rule or law concerning a natural phenomenon or the function of a complex system; "the principle of the conservation of mass"; "the principle of jet propulsion"; "the right-hand rule for inductive fields" * rule of personal conduct * rationale: (law) an explanation of the fundamental reasons (especially an explanation of the working of some device in terms of laws of nature); "the rationale for capital punishment"; "the principles of internal-combustion engines"
People who want to elect somebody who has never led anything in their life to the most important leadership position in the world have a fundamental flaw in their ability to reason.
Exactly. The funny thing is that we are not just electing a president but an entire staff, and how they work together to make decisions. McCain has not chosen wisely...so many Lobbyists on his staff, and a wack job as a VP candidate. DD
