    Wow - talk about defensive - you don't have to go to guns at the first sign of controversy, baby.

    I thought the joke was awesome.

    I'm glad he's rubbing it in on all the huffy puffy sad Repubs. Threads like this indicate that it's working. :)

    I think he's got about a thousand more gaffes to go before he comes close to reaching Bush. Everybody slips up now and again...it shouldn't be too unexpected considering how nearly flawless of a campaign he ran. Besides Biden will probably trump that comment by next week anyways.

    At least Obama apologized for the remark.

    Best post of this thread. Yeah he messed up and it was pretty bad to say. The reporters giggled and he went on with the joke, and it was not tasteful. But he definitely owned up to his mistake, and that's admirable. I'd rather have a president admit to his mistakes and apologize for them.

    When someone criticizes Palin, only then you rush to join hands and sing songs of unity. It was a gaffe and very minor, but at least he isn't looting Neiman Marcus around the country on the RNC money. Thank god, as your party call them the “Wasilla Hillbillies” didn’t make it to the Oval office, the gaffes would be much worse.

    Rumor has it he's not going through the proper channels to adopt the dog for his daughter and has moved to the top of the waiting list, passing over families that have been waiting months for a special dog.
