What a political noob. I know he hates Congress, but this stuff seems basic. Like first 100 days basic. John Boehner gets his first Air Force One ride with Obama
Oh, and arguably his most significant positive development in office was the steps towards normalizing relations with Cuba. I shouldn't have forgotten that one.
Uh no. Requiring people to have insurance is a direct effect of subsidizing the forcing of private businesses to give away services for free. $50 billion dollars worth of services are given away annually to those who don't pay their ER bills because they don't have insurance or just flat out refuse to pay. And who signed EMTALA? Republican paragon Ronald Reagan. As usual a Republican ****s up and a Democrat has to clean it up.
people in this country don't deserve insurance and medical care. everything before the healthcare law was perfect.
If you'll recall, Obama did do meetings with Republican congressmen in the beginning of his presidency, with some quotes from some of them about how they were pleasantly surprised to have so much contact. But that soon stopped, probably before the 100 days were up, when Republicans decided to vote against everything.
There is no denying facts. "Love him or hate him, you can’t shake a stick at some of the accomplishments the Obama administration has achieved. More likely than not, Obama will be looked back upon as an incredible president who should have been more accepted, revered, and supported during his service." Legacy Sealed: Obama’s Approval Ratings Soar After Historical Wins For Progress
Obama has his issues, but unless there is a serious negative development yet to happen, he will be remembered well. If the Iran negotiations conclude positively and it begins a slow course correction in USA-Iran relations over the next 10-20 years, Obama will be remembered as a great president. The U.S. cannot allow Saudi Arabia, Israel and ignorant people here to derail this historic opportunity.
Normalizing relations with Cuba, finally, is something that will be remembered decades from now. Kudos, President Obama! Can't wait to vacation there.
I believe, the US has not been in any new "wars" since his appointment. In addition to that, we removed the troops. This is another one of those undervalued accomplishments.
Oh are we giving Obama credit for cutting bait and running in Iraq thus causing the spread of ISIS? I thought we were blaming that on Bush?
If you consider "war on drugs" or "war on terror" as an actual war then I will agree with you. Just like the above, ISIS is an ideology and not a country like Iraq and Afganhistan. I should have been more specific.
Clearly you misunderstood me, when you said You were crediting Obama with removing the troops yet when it was shown to have been a really dumb idea that led to chaos and half of Iraq falling to ISIS those on the left were quick to point out that Bush signed the deal that removed troops from Iraq and Obama simply didn't change that plan.....so which is it? Are we blaming bush or crediting Obama?
His Cuba initiative alone will be a feather in his cap I wonder mostly what will his legacy will be on how Presidents go about their business Rocket River
The President's disdain and lack of faith with Congress is well documented, even with fellow democrats. It may be well deserved and understandable to a person, but a leader should look beyond that LBJ style.
That is a different discussion that I am sure, has been beaten to death. There were 150k boots on the ground in Iraq when he took office, how many do we have now?
Okay, so just so we're clear then, pulling the troops out of Iraq prematurely causing the spread of ISIS was Obama's fault? We're not going to say later "well Bush signed the deal to get them out", are we? In fact, that's pretty much the Obama legacy, anything that can be viewed as a positive that happened while he was in office is an Obama accomplishment, anything negative, including negative side effects of things seen as an Obama accomplishment was someone else's fault.
