Obama: Kobe Bryant no match for Michael Jordan

    WASHINGTON (AP) — Sorry, Kobe.

President Barack Obama was asked straight out on Thursday: Kobe or Michael?

As in, who's the best? Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant, a four-time NBA champion? Or the basketball legend to whom he is most often compared, Michael Jordan, who retired as a six-time champ with the Chicago Bulls and is widely regarded as the best player of all time?

"Oh, Michael," Obama answered in an interview with The Associated Press.

"I mean, Kobe's terrific. Don't get me wrong," Obama said. "But I haven't seen anybody match up with Michael."

Obama, a basketball fan who hails from Chicago, is certainly no Lakers hater.

He picked Bryant's team to defeat the Orlando Magic in the finals this year, and he was right.

Did he go to UNC? I know he's a Harvard/Columbia grad. He also went to college for a while in Los Angeles somewhere, I think.

Maybe he was referring to him picking UNC to win the tourney.

i think this should go in the debate and discussion thread...as to why our president is getting all this media attention

the bug, the note, him cryinng....etc...

i'm a liberal, but seriously, he should stick to politics...

i know i'm a little over on this topic about him picking a player, but for the other things...god...it's annoying

sorry, i had just one of my 'fits'

Shouldn't Obama be worrying about our huge debt instead? No worries, just talk hoops.

I don't think it's possible for him to work on the economy 24-hours a day.

He can worry a bot the debt that bush caused 23 hours and 59 minutes of the day and then worry about basketball that 1 minute.

Plus he was just responding to someone's question.

A reporter asks Obama a basketball question = Obama hanging out all day talking basketball while ignoring advisors waiting in line to talk to him?

You guys are idiots. Why can't a President express his opinion about sports? Do you honestly think that he had to collate an answer for the Kobe/Michael question days in advanced, hence taking away time from his political obligations?

It was an answer that took him 20 seconds to answer. It does not, in anyway, hinder his ability to deal with the current economic situation or the US's debt.

Please! Get out of here and go suck on Bush's bush.

It's amazing that a simple comment by the President about basketball can bring out political nuts. I should've known nothing intelligent would come of this thread and just closed it when I saw it. lol.
