Bush didn't get the level of pounding in his first year that Obama is getting here.

Bush got bashed for a really terrible job he did. He made poor appointments, made poor decisions, and broke the record for presidential leisure time spending nearly 1 in 3 days of his presidency on vacation. And that's not elite?

Obama has been in office for a few months. He deserves a fair chance just like Bush had. Bush mucked up those chances the people gave him, both at the start of his presidency, and definitely after 9/11.

Obama has just begun, and so far is doing a decent job. Not flawless, not super awesome even, but he's doing a decent job.

perk? dont' you think obama can pay for his own travel from dc to ny? again, the problem here is protocol requires that ss goes with the president whereever he goes.. so he went to travel 4 hrs away on a non-official business travel once after being president in 6 months.. what's the problem again?

if you think obama's 1 day in 6 months travel is abuse of power, what do you thibk of gw's extended vacations to crawford tx?

To the OP, you're an idiot.

The guy has the most stressful and arguably most important job in the world, and gets paid less than my boss. (I work at a business that is meaningless outside of the county I live in) If he takes a little break, I could care less. He deserves it. I'm a Democrat, and I would say the same thing about George W. Bush.

And if you're only saying this because you're a Repub, see: Sarah Palin.

I think this thread, as well as some the posts by the usual bunch, should be re-named, "Grasping at a Whole Bunch of Straws."
