I really think this is the most important post in this thread. I have learned that people who don't write well usually don't think well either. The two go hand-in-hand, and bigtexxx's inability to use simple communicative English indicates a serious lack of thinking ability.
Should Americans penny pinch if the leader of the free world wants to get away? The last time I flew United to Dallas may baggage costs were more that his entire vacation. Maybe there is a cliff in Hawaii called Fiscal that he wants to negotiate? It all makes perfect sense to me.

The problem with your logic is that our country could likely face a recession if we don't resolve the fiscal cliff. A leader doesn't respond by taking a 20 day vacation before it gets resolved. That's telling America: "I don't care if you don't resolve the fiscal cliff and people lose their jobs due to the recession. I'd rather be on the beach in Hawaii." Basically giving them the big FU. Your bias prevents you from logically thinking through just how awful that is. by the way -- how many working class Americans take 20 day vacations? Obama's out of touch with reality.

In addition, you do realize that Obama has taken FAR less "vacation" (being "on vacation" while President is a bit different than being so in any other job except maybe CEO) time than any other modern President save Clinton, right?
