Thanks for finding that Mr. S.

What's hilarious about this is that even with the splicing they couldn't come close to making the case, because, you know, Obama says the opposite of what basso and TJ imagine. One way or another boys, you're lying... either to yourselves or to the rest of us, both of which are just sad.

It's interesting to watch the apologists for the supposedly tough, grown-up party whine and flail and continue to lie as the verdict on the harm they have done to the country is delivered.

Well, there's an appeal to authority that nobody dare challenge. Nothing left to do but acknowledge that Obama is what Keyes says he is.

Probably a liberal periodical, but regardless: conservatives, please defend McCain's comments and Palin's "socialistic" view of her state.

    http://www.newyorker.com/talk/comment/2008/11/03/081103taco_talk_hertzberg

During the 2000 campaign, on MSNBC’s “Hardball,” a young woman asked him why her father, a doctor, should be “penalized” by being “in a huge tax bracket.” McCain replied that “wealthy people can afford more” and that “the very wealthy, because they can afford tax lawyers and all kinds of loopholes, really don’t pay nearly as much as you think they do.” The exchange continued:

YOUNG WOMAN: Are we getting closer and closer to, like, socialism and stuff?. . .
MCCAIN: Here’s what I really believe: That when you reach a certain level of comfort, there’s nothing wrong with paying somewhat more.

For her part, Sarah Palin, who has lately taken to calling Obama “Barack the Wealth Spreader,” seems to be something of a suspect character herself. She is, at the very least, a fellow-traveller of what might be called socialism with an Alaskan face. The state that she governs has no income or sales tax. Instead, it imposes huge levies on the oil companies that lease its oil fields. The proceeds finance the government’s activities and enable it to issue a four-figure annual check to every man, woman, and child in the state. One of the reasons Palin has been a popular governor is that she added an extra twelve hundred dollars to this year’s check, bringing the per-person total to $3,269. A few weeks before she was nominated for Vice-President, she told a visiting journalist—Philip Gourevitch, of this magazine—that “we’re set up, unlike other states in the union, where it’s collectively Alaskans own the resources. So we share in the wealth when the development of these resources occurs.” Perhaps there is some meaningful distinction between spreading the wealth and sharing it (“collectively,” no less), but finding it would require the analytic skills of Karl the Marxist

Please show one example of Obama carrying out a radical agenda?

He hasn't introduced any in any of the positions he's worked on. The boards he was on with Ayers weren't radical in any way. There is just no evidence to show that he has some radical agenda he will carry out.

TJ... I notice you ignored my post and I'm not one of those you call out here. Why is it so important that you avoid the topic? Is it because you know what you and bass suggest is a lie and that the tape was spliced in a way to try and make Obama look like the monster under your bed? That even with the splices, any person with a modicum of intelligence could tell he was not saying what you imagined amounts to a massive failure on behalf of you and basso. Your gullibility knows no bounds.

Speaking of gullibility, these last few weeks have really made me consider quiting my job and starting up a company that sells Dr. Pepper with a dash of cayenne as "W. Reagan Palin's' Magical Elixir." I'll promise it will let you "increase your secret vision so you can see the true form of terrorists, socialists, and Marxists, even when they're pretending to be Americans," and as an added bonus it will "provide a strict interpretation to your bowel movements and increase your bank account by twice the amount you spend on my elixir."

I'd make a fortune advertising on Rush and selling at Palin events.

this is not true at all. We still tapped into the the social security trust fund to pay for the overspending, we just did not borrow additional money. We also cut military spending severly to accomplish this.

If you get your wish thats exactly what you will be doing to your money as he is taxing the country into a real recession.

These are Obama's own words, libs. There is no distortion. The only distortion is the ridiculous 'explanation' for Obama's comments that some Harvard law professor was forced to trot out today in defense of Snobama.

Face facts, the man is a socialist. In a rare moment of candor, he let this slip. When you look at his associations (Wright, Ayers, Khalidi), it's even more obvious that he's a socialist. Now you've got his own words to confirm it.

And the McCain campaign's pushing this... what a surprise from a morally bankrupt organization...

Jumbling up and splicing words is doesn't really help your point. In fact it's distortion. You are lying in this post when you claim it's not.

Strange that basso now has a big problem with Reagan-era tax policy. Why did Reagan hate the American dream so much?

One thing I noticed recently is how a $700B bailout is not redistribution of wealth.
