There were was one major difference in what happened in Katrina and KY that you are leaving out.

In KY FEMA actually responded appropriately, in Katrina they didn't.

Before you start your race baiting, you should do research

    Louisana population, 4.2 million
    Kentucky population, 4.4 million

which state do you think has more people on welfare?

basso, I'm surprised your still around this thread, after it turned into such an embarrassment for you, but Kudos.

I think anyone who has looked at the screw ups of Katrina knows that it goes way beyond not getting the supplies in because of flood damage. It goes into slow response, communication screw ups, the Feds taking over parts of the local command links, and blowing that out of the water, etc.

It was a valiant effort on your part.

Amazing how basso and bigtexx were the first two posters in this thread, back-and-forth, Hannity and Rush having another interview, playing tennis with yet another sad yet despicable attempt to tear down the President.

I very much doubt an army of FEMA dudes were sitting at the Pittsburgh/West Virginia state line to rush in and arrive two hours after the power went out, you know? But go ahead---equate this with how Bush let a bunch of poor blacks drown, either out of apathy for people he doesn't care about and/or from a need to help tear down Blanco and get the state back into the Red column (she contributed to her own demise, too, I'll admit, even though it's funny she's the only major political figure who paid with her job while Bush and Ray Giant Oreo Nagin marched merrily on).

Anyway, bigtexx and basso, maybe if T_J shows up again ya'll can finally have that nice circle jerk you so desire? Or play a solid game of c*m-on-a-cracker (which I used to think was an urban myth but I'm now beginning to wonder).

The funny thing is that FEMA's efficiency here is actually a credit to Bush, and not Obama. Agencies don't immediately change policies and effectiveness one week into a new administration. It takes a while to shift goals, reorganize, etc. Anything that happens in the short term with FEMA, good or bad, is more a result of what Bush's new FEMA director did as opposed to anything Obama might have done.

He does raise a good point.

Saying that though, it should never have taken a giant misstep to get it to where it is.

Except that FEMA had a week to get supplies and manpower in place. Everybody knew the storm was going to be bad. In Kentucky, the ice storm came in overnight. There was no such leadtime.

I believe Mr D. is somewhere in the great state of Pennsylvania....but I could be wrong as he is an enterprising young man with a bright future and could be living the high life in NYC or something by now. ;)

and since my current schtick is posting stupid pics....gotta do one for Basso, he makes me smile so much. ( I know I said one, but both together just about say it all )

    Rednecks die, no one cries.

Obama, and his boy Chris Matthews, got some 'splainin' to do.

Why that link spouted the same incorrect theory you did about FEMA not being involved.

I don't think either Chris Matthews or Obama have anything to explain regarding this thread. Just you.

Though I admire the way you ignore the reports showing that FEMA is involved as they should be, and keep pretending it never happened.

By the way that was a FANTASTIC link you supplied. Great source.
