I didn't watch the video you posted, but while yes, he is trying to spin it to take the pressure off of his own statement, what he is saying is true.

He did not set the red line in international law, the United Nations did. Unless the video you posted is him pushing it onto Congress, what he said is half-true -- the line was set by international law.

Can you imagine growing up to the age of 16 and never knowing an old, white guy as president?

They're responding in kind. We can't take your threads seriously---you make FOX News look like MSNBC---so we respond with comedy. Better to laugh than to cry; it hurts to watch you slip further and further into madness.

Anyway, if anyone got the license plate of the horse that kicked you in the head, maybe we can find and prosecute its owner?

Gawd, can't wait to see bigtexxx's posts when we have President Hillary.

Ok? 1) is he not living up to his word? No that we have proof of chemical weapons use he is deciding to act. 2) The assumption that you and other critics are making is that he put himself in a bad position because of this "arbitrary" red line. He is pointing out that it is his opinion, but reinforcing it by reminding everyone that chemical weapons use is something voted against by congress, international leaders, ect.

Bottom line is you can be an Obama hater and call it bad policy, but you have to accept that it is a bad policy implemented long before him across the world. I am glad he is standing up for this and if it passes he would have done a great job leading our country and convincing all of congress we are doing the right thing. Strong man.

aren't u in the big energy biznass if i recall correctly?

surely u must already know about this:

    http://www.dp-news.com/en/detail.aspx?articleid=91243

    http://www.upi.com/Business_News/En...ne-seeks-Euro-gas-markets/UPI-13971311588240/

and therefore already know that our nobel peace prize winnin leader is nothing more than a puppet whose job as lead spokesman on tv is simply to gather public support for our corporate interests, by whatever means works....including outright lying...

I was never confident with Romney, and didn't vote for him. I knew we were doomed. I am not saying a Republican will win. I am just confident Hillary Clinton will not win. She is keeping quiet and out of the spotlight for a reason. Her failure as Secretary and the result of 4 American deaths in Benghazi will haunt her campaign.

I really think Romney had a good chance to win though, if he wouldn't have shot himself in the foot and if he would have pressed Obama harder in the Crowley incident. But I don't think he would have made a good President, not sure he would have even been better than Obama which is setting the bar pretty low. Hopefully both parties put up some good candidates. I would like to vote for someone I have confidence in.

The problem I have is that Obama didn't have to backtrack/deflect from what he said originally. What he said originally was kind of open ended. All he had to do was repeat what he said before and state that these chemical attacks have made the U.S. start evaluating the use of force. That would not deviate from what he said before.

Either way, actions speak louder than words and the U.S. is currently exploring military action. That would imply Obama is standing behind what he said before.

It's hard to argue that Obama is simply a corporate puppet with his tax, healthcare, and energy stances.

Ah the Democrat party. The party who also had a President utter the famous line: "It depends on what the definition of "is" is." and of course crazy Uncle Joe Biden's favorite "putting Y'ALL in chains!"

    This.

Parsing is for political wingnuts/geeks/lunatics. He mentioned the red line, and the world heard it as an explicit signal that the US would react in the event of chemical warfare being deployed.

This is a case where Obama took the bait of the loaded question by being too defensive. Par the course when he's ever confronted with heavily tilted questions, and one of the more notorious characteristics of his presidency of making deliberately misleading denials.
