Let's examine this one, shall we? President nominates B. Todd Jones for ATF Director First, why did the NRA lobby Congress to make this the only law enforcement agency who's director has to be confirmed by the Senate? Second, why do republican senators keep placing holds on the nominations...including those by President Bush? It's to effectively neuter the agency. The NRA is better off with a much weakened ATF. They have less agents now than they did in the 1970's. Tell me again how that's the President's fault.
