It's closer to socializing than the "middle or the arrows" image that is touted on his campaign ad. Simply hilarious response.

Yes. I've read it. It's more government control.

    Socialism.

You aren't reading something. Either you don't understand the health care plan, or you don't understand Socialism.

His health care plan isn't socialized medicine.

Yep because Obama is supportive of domestic terrorist sympathizers. He's going to get into the white house and give Ayers the go ahead to reconstitute the Weathermen.

Then he's going to have a bunch of other terrorist groups start up and let them loose on the American public. All his many years of hard work, and community service were all a ploy to have the weathermen become active again and terrorize Americans. It's finally paying off.

Well, that's why I'm voting for him! Bring back the weathermen!

Seriously, IROC it, what is the relevance of this? Is the angle, if we're to believe the Limbaugh/McCain line on this, that Obama is lying, and therefor unfit? Kind of like Clinton lied about Monica and so we impeached him? I'm trying to understand it, because Ayers is NOT part of the campaign, is NOT at advisor, has NOT done diddly against US America in over 40 years, and is DEFINITELY a harmless, lame professor of education. I just don't get the boogey-man attempt here at all.

So I guess the Limbaugh/McCain/Fox line will be "he's not being honest with America!" but this has been investigated all through the primaries. I guess you can rub flint together to make it look like there's smoke here, but what intelligent people will keep asking: smoke of what? Obama is going to set up a terrorist training camp on the front lawn? Nobody could believe such things.

setting aside the "40 year" argument, which is not accurate, (and there's no Statute of Limitations on murder, or conspiracy to commit murder), the issue is one of honesty (and your clinton comparison is false). Obama has lied about his relationship with Ayers, repeatedly, and he's still lying about it now. the question is, Why? America deserves an answer before we're asked to turn over the keys to the economy and the codes to missiles to him.

The why has been answered in my earlier post. He is lying because he wants to reconstitute the weathermen and unleash them to commit terrorist acts on the American public. You are very keen to have picked up on this plot.

    Good job.

Sadly there are some flaws with your post. The 40 years remark is accurate. A statue of limitations is irrelevant when speaking to the last time he committed a crime.

Furthermore Ayers and his wife turned themselves in already. They did so decades ago. So your statue of limitations remark is off base anyway.

I think what's sad about Republicans resorting to Ayers and eventually Wright, is its been tried already. Obama has had his character tested in the Democratic primaries nearly as bad as the Republicans are trying to do.

Only difference is Republicans are pulling a Jim Jones during the psychotic pep rallies during their Town Hall meetings where all they can talk about is character. Hypocritical. Obama has weathered that storm of character assassinations already. Beating a dead horse after people have already moved on from it is going to fail. It already has failed. But go with it.

Also if there is still a bet, I pick Obama to win by a landslide.

Mccain has lied about and continues to lie about his reasons for divorcing his first wife. The question is, Why? America needs to know why he would divorce a woman who loved him and waited for him while he was a prisoner of war. There must be some reason he’s not telling us. Until he explains the complete story of his reasons for divorcing his wife, I will assume he is not fit to be president

I am left thinking that, yes, you actually believe it is possible that Obama is some sort of very-well-hidden radical weirdo who will have America do crazy terroristy things. A Manchurian candidate sort of thing. That strikes me, and probably most independents, as tin-hat territory.

    B-Bob,

If you're referencing I-Roc here, he probably does believe that's a possiblity.

However, if you're talking about basso, there's no way he actually believes this. His beating of the Ayers drum is just one more example of staggering intellectual dishonesty.

    new Fox News poll

Does Obama's connection with Ayers make you less likely to vote for him for president or does it not really make a difference to your vote?

    Less Likely 32%

    No Difference 61%

Strikingly, the numbers are worse for McCain among independents: Only 29% say the Ayers association makes them less likely to vote for Obama, and more than two-thirds -- 64% -- say it makes no difference.

[edit] more from the Fox poll:

Meanwhile, the poll suggests that McCain's attacks could be blowing back on him: A majority -- 51% -- say he's running a negative campaign, as compared to only 21% who say that about Obama.

Wrong yet again, Perry Mason. There is in fact a statute of limitations on criminal conspiracy under federal law (5 years).

If I were a conservative, I would be positively embarrassed that this is what my candidate was focusing on right now, amidst the biggest economic crisis of this generation. The fact that so many posters here have bought into it makes them seem so incredibly spineless and incapable of independent thought, especially because everyone already knew about this Ayers thing before.

Seriously, it's so positively transparent that I'm ashamed FOR you. Please muster up some self respect. Please. It's just really sad. And a little pathetic.

The Republicans are simply showing the rest of the country that they don't care about it, only about winning elections. Luckily, these tactics led to the disastrous last eight years and the country's not buying it any longer.

True colors have been shown though. Country first, my ass.

McShame campaign expands Ayers attack to Michelle,

    via TPM --

The McCain campaign is now broadening their attack on Obama's past association with William Ayers to include Michelle Obama -- even though McCain has repeatedly said spouses should be off limits during the campaign.

The attack? Bernardine Dohrn, Ayers' wife and fellow former Weatherman, went to work in 1984 for the major Chicago-based national law firm of Sidley & Austin, and three years later, Michelle joined the mega-firm as well.

That's the entire attack. We wish we were joking. But we aren't.
