I really would love all these liberals to explain to me why they think having Govt run our lives is so great. Why do we want the govt to run healthcare? Isnt the govt large enough as it is? Has the government ever done anything efficiently? We need less govt and less spending. All this is basically another form of redistribution of wealth. With all these social programs you are going to have people just reaching their hand in the cookie jar and not contributing to it. It is us hard working Americans that will have to foot the bill in the end. Stop trying to show meaningless graphs to me Major. You know damn well that in the end those graphs mean crap. When has our Govt actually projected something accurately? Everything always runs over budget and this includes all the Republicans programs also. This is why our debt is in the TRILLIONS!
I am really just tired of paying hundreds of thousands of dollars in taxes to our govt to have it be wasted.
I dont know what you do Major but I have successfully started up two bussinesses. I pay my fair share of taxes and I am sick of it being spent on social programs for people who just want a hand out from the rest of us.

If you actually knew anything about the bill, you'd know the government wouldn't be running anything.

If you actually knew how to read a graph, you'd know that it wasn't a government projection of any sort. It was a graph of poll results - the exact thing YOU suggested we look at. It's almost as though you have no idea what you're even discussing and are just regurgitating talking points. No, it's not like that - it IS that.

I've run two different businesses and also paid my share of taxes. I've purchased my own health insurance both on the private market and through group coverage for one of the companies. And I've seen firsthand the disaster that our current system is. If you believe a system where person income goes up 1%, GDP goes up 3%, and health care spending goes up 6% per year is good and/or sustainable, you're completely clueless.

You seem to think sending money to an insurance company is somehow better than sending it to the gov't. I don't care either way. My interest is in ensuring that my total spending on health care goes up with inflation instead of faster than it.

How about the TrimTabs table? TrimTabs uses realtime tax withholding data, instead of the bureau of labor's surveys. It shows job losses peaking in March and steadily dropping.

Here's the TrimTabs table. The data is much more reliable than the surveys from the Bureau of Labor, since it uses real time tax-withholding data instead of a household survey with large seasonal adjustments like the BLS.

Um.....Do you see BLS?? That means Bureau of Labor Statstics....has nothing to do with the Speaker. All Pelosi did was copy the Stats and put them out.

I would love for you to explain how govt. would be running lives or health care for that matter should the bills pass.

You don't know what you're talking about.

We desperately need health care reform, but the ridiculous, patchwork, piece of garbage that the Congress tried to ram through on Christmas Eve no less, does little of nothing. Great, can't deny preexisting conditions, I'm for that, but without a public option, insurance prices will skyrocket. Same for several other provisions. Not a Republican or Democrat here; time to start over.

This should be the most carefully reasoned bill in history, it is that important. I had almost despaired of the process, but the public appeal to sanity was heard, somewhat. Mostly, it was the threat that we are going to clean house if you don't get it right. And I will tell you this, we the people mean it! I for one will spend a good part of my treasure to support "opposition" campaigns all over the U.S. And I didn't care much for the Bush Republicans either. I helped throw them out, and we will keep throwing politicians out until the people get representation.!

    Hilariously, that's his whole argument.

"I don't know anything about this bill! So NOBODY knows anything about this bill!"

    Poll: Bipartisanship popular, compromise tricky

As party leaders tussle over the proposed bipartisan health care summit, nearly two-thirds of Americans say they want Congress to keep working to pass comprehensive health-care reform.

The sticky part of widespread desire for compromise is that it's simple to want it from the other side. About three-quarters of Democrats see the congressional Republicans as intransigent, while a similar proportion of Republicans see Obama that way. But even Republicans are critical of their congressional leadership, with 44 percent seeing them as doing too little to strike deals with Obama; that compares with just 13 percent of Democrats worried about inaction on Obama's part.

There is a certain group of people who seem proud of ignorance and want their politicians to be as ignorant as well.

Sarah Palin has no clue about any policy at all and some people will go out of their way to defend her, and are very protective of her every time she displays her ignorance.

You should move your business to a 3rd world country. In those places, corporations run people's lives and believe me, they don't hand out anything to the sick and poor. Those folks work their ass off and gets kicked to the curb when no longer needed. Exactly what those people deserve.

I'm terribly sorry that you had to be born in a country where people are educated with some sort of moral values. I know it's very hard on you. But it doesn't have to be this way. You can change your life. Get out of this horrible nation and move on to a better life.

You have to understand that the largest employer, wealth creator and job creator in this nation is small business. With out small businesses America wouldnt be where it is at today. It is with those values that hard work pays off that made America the strongest nation in the world with the best technology. I know I am going off topic here but why do you want to discourage these people and punish these people who want to create wealth and knowledge for this country which in turns is employs and helps others. When did moral values come into play here? So working hard, wanting to create wealth = no moral values? Umm okay... I am glad most people dont think like you.

SMB would benefit the most from healthcare bill. One of the reasons people can't go out on their own is because they can't get healthcare. I know a guy who works part time as a teacher just to get insurance, and running his business full time.
