I'm not looking for CBO estimates on the current bill.

I'm looking for the history of CBO estimates vs the actual costs incurred.

The ignorant idiot here is you. You completely miss the point of why Americans are opposed to this bill. Hmm I am thinking if you are going to pass a bill in the billions and billions of dollars it is important to the know the details. My point exactly was that even our crappy elected officials had no clue what this bill was about. No one has really explained the bill other than the r****ded talking points you mentioned in your post above. I told you in my original post dont come back with some dumb talking points you heard Obama reiterate. Look at the polls.. Look what happened in the Scott Brown election. Americans dont want this bill simply because it was done behind closed doors with no compromise. Nancy Pelosi, Reid and the radical left tried to jam this bill down our throats. If something is to pass it needs to be a compromise from both sides. Fortunately for us not all Americans are as ignorant as you and voted in the right person.
So go on and keep being your idiot yourself. I am done with you. Laterz

    "Anthem"

Know your place in life is where you want to be
Don't let them tell you that you owe it all to me
Keep on looking forward...no use in looking 'round
Hold your head above the ground and they won't bring you down

Anthem of the heart and anthem of the mind
A funeral dirge for eyes gone blind
We marvel after those who sought
The wonders of the world, wonders of the world
Wonders of the world they wrought

Live for yourself...there's no one else
    More worth living for
Begging hands and bleeding hearts will only cry out for more

Well, I know they've always told you
    Selfishness was wrong
Yet it was for me, not you, I came to write this song

You look what happened in the Scott Brown Election. The Brown voters who also voted Obama support health care reform.

Please don't talk about compromise. The Dems gave several republicans everything they asked for.

Okay all you crybabies, put up or shut up!

Obama invites GOP leaders to health care talk

President Barack Obama says it's time for Republicans who have attacked his health care proposals from the sidelines to step before the cameras and present their own ideas.

In the first major move to revive his health care agenda after his party's loss of a filibuster-proof Senate majority, Obama on Sunday invited GOP and Democratic leaders to discuss possible compromises in a televised gathering later this month.

It comes amid widespread complaints that Democrats' efforts so far have been too partisan and secretive.

The Feb. 25 meeting's prospects for success are far from clear. GOP leaders demanded Sunday that Democrats start from scratch, and White House aides said Obama had no plans to do so.

Republican and Democrat leaders debating healthcare ideas on television?

In the words of Jon Stewart: "This is gonna be awesome!"

It is currently being proposed as a half-day of presentations. The MSM will clip a few brief sound bites from the sessions, and that is all that more than 99% of the American public will ever see. This is a political stunt by Obama and nothing more. Anything that is actually going to get done on this must pass through Congress, as required by the U.S. Constitution. As a result, this exercise is very probably just a big waste of time.

Also, I thought Obama and the Democrats were going to be focusing on the economy and jobs now "like a laser beam".

    Apparently not.

Obama promised during the campaign that the NEGOTIATIONS would be televised on CSPAN.

Is this supposed to be the NEGOTIATIONS?

Of course not. It is a dog and pony show. There is nothing of substance that will be achieved by this.

Let them put on these presentations. I am not "opposed" to this, as long as the format is fairly organized.

But the reality is that for anything to become law, it must first be passed through Congress. There is a rather lengthy process associated with that, thank God, which has to be completed before a final bill is voted on. These meetings do not substitute for any part of that process. And everyone up in Congress and the White House knows that.

This is a media stunt, just like Obama's initial coffee reception with Republicans last February, and nothing more.

Once again, I thought the Democrats were wanting to focus their attention on the economy now. Whatever happened to that?

    Who's running away?

GOP cool to Obama call for two-party health talks

Republicans gave a chilly reception Monday to President Barack Obama's invitation to discuss health care in a bipartisan, televised setting later this month, part of the White House effort to revive the stalled legislation.

mc mark, do you see that at the bottom right? "Office of the Speaker"? Obviously this is Pelosi-propaganda at its finest and completely false and irrelevant.

I have a good, non-sarcastic eye for these sorts of things, you see.

Actually, many of us here are independent and don't want it because it compromised too much. If you haven't heard, there are several things in the bill that were Republican ideas (see: Obama discussing this at Republican caucus), but they voted against anyway. There are too many compromises and the essence of the original bill was absolutely obliterated in the senate. It just because some dilapidated monster that wasn't worth passing any more; not for liberals, not for conservatives.

A lot of the new opposition to it was because of the changes that were made to it in the name of compromise.

This is true. And to do it, to get some holdout votes in the House/Senate, they compromised more than they should have. I can't say I have a favorable outlook on Pelosi/Reid, myself.

It had some, you're just not willing to look for it.

I also love how conservatives continue to harp on how their belief is "America". I especially love it when they use the phrase "we the people" as if it actually means something. No, it just means you. Don't speak for anyone else. Thanks in advance.

You're so hip. How can I be Internet hip like you?

So you want details of the bill? Why don't you simply read the bill? It's publicly available? Contrary to your bizarre thinking, the American people don't want to know all the technical regulations within a field they know very little about. The reason you talk in broad terms is because that's the important part.

And yes, your crappy elected officials do tend to know what they are voting for. They probably haven't read the bill itself - that's why they all have individual staff, committee staff, and experts to consult.

Yes, let's look at the polls:

Study it. Think about it. Look closely. Now realize that everything you believed is completely wrong and that your surface analysis of polls of "she lost which must mean everyone is against Obama!" is dumb, ignorant, and completely wrong.

Jesus Major! These freaks don't give a flying flip about facts or the truth. Democrats need to come to that realization and start to counter accordingly.

I know. I just like posting that chart over and over again. It compresses the argument into such simple, pretty form. :)
