Voted the best British band ever...by themselves. Noel is a professional self-promoter, or he was when NME cared about them. Anyone who goes to a Radiohead concert to hear "Creep" shouldn't be at a Radiohead concert. And not just because they almost never play "Creep".
damn man, I can't say this enough. My first concert was an Oasis concert and it was BADASS. Strongly encourage anyone to check them out and see the gallagher's act like asses. It's highly entertaining, and you get great music to go along with it.
Oasis is for people who want to Live Forever love Rock and Roll Stars Radiohead is for Creeps who like Fake Plastic Trees
Champagne Supernova.... one of my favorite all time songs my friends and I would call into the radio station all the time in 8th grade to play that song.
one of my favorite oasis songs but i cant find it on iTunes to download though, i havent looked at other methods of getting music from the intertubez yet though. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/6tuPBrSl9Nw&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/6tuPBrSl9Nw&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
When Oasis comes out with something that doesn't sound exactly like their previous song/album, I'll give them a serious shot. No contest IMO....Radiohead in a landslide.
I was there and it was amazing, but I vote radiohead for the same reasons vanilla rice states in his post.
This is seriously about playing Creep? You're killing me, tinman. Maybe I don't even like the Rockets anymore
They would have screwed over Brandon Flowers too. Oasis inspires people. "Before that, it was dismal—there were a couple places that nobody wanted to play at. Then I saw Oasis play at The Joint when I was about seventeen and my life was changed." —The Killers frontman Brandon Flowers tells HRH Magazine Radiohead, some their songs makes you say "What the hell am I doing here? I don't belong here.. I don't belong here" Oasis "where were you when we were getting high?"
Jay-Z ftw! <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/mrDIOVXx-y8&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/mrDIOVXx-y8&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
There's a very simple way to decide this. Look at all the CDs of both bands, and then create a top 10 ranking of best to least, regardless of which band each is from. So, I'm thinking the list would look something like this: 1. Radiohead- OK Computer 2. Radiohead- The Bends 3. Radiohead- Hail To The Thief 4. Radiohead- Kid A 5. Radiohead- Amnesiac 6. Radiohead- In Rainbows 7. Oasis- ...Morning Glory 8. Radiohead- Pablo Honey 9. Oasis- Shoulders of Giants 10. Oasis- Definitely Maybe There. That's more like it. Radiohead is like Vernon Maxwell- he don't need to be friends with anybody in the biz, he doesn't care if he ruffles some feathers- all that matters is producing when it counts (e.g. the CDs that people will listen to over and over again). Wasn't it Vernon Maxwell who said after the Mother's Day fiasco, "We're not winning this for the fans- we're winning it for ourselves"? Isn't Radiohead saying the same thing? Radiohead= Vernon Maxwell Oasis= Winston Garland End of debate.
Don't listen to a lot of oasis do you? That's a canned answer kind of like oasis sounds like a beatles rip of. Absolutely not. That's an insult to the beatles as well. They're two very different bands so likely have different fans as well. I'm not a radiohead fan but I do recognize their musical ability. Oasis is not technically amazing but Noel gallagher is a genius songwriter. He writes tunes that you want to sing to.
awesome song. its a monster single in the UK. Don't forget this anthem: <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/jzWrdC_zosI&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/jzWrdC_zosI&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> Plus Liam would beat the crap out of Thom
Oasis= Plagiarism: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oasis_(band) Other, 'direct' influences have led to court cases; Neil Innes sued after the song "Whatever" borrowed from his "How Sweet to Be an Idiot". He was awarded royalties and a co-writer credit. Oasis were also sued by Coca Cola and forced to change lyrics after it was alleged that the song "Shakermaker" lifted words and melody from "I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing". Radiohead= "I want to live and breathe I want to be part of the human race." "And if I could be who you wanted If I could be who you wanted All the time, all the time." AND, MOST IMPORTANTLY: In an interstellar burst I am back to save the universe
