In normal times, it would be a good move to look at the NY Metro, but the Long term COVID reaction impact has left greater NY in turmoil. Downtown is not coming back and commuters are scarce as working remotely is now acceptable. But if working from home is OK, then why even stay in the Metro? So there's an extra element of risk expanding there at this time. But it doesn't hurt to check it out. Hey, I bet they could call it infrastructure and let the US taxpayers pay 10 Billion for their new Brooklyn stadium.
Well great. It's a done deal and there's no reason not to grovel at their feet and beg them to let Oakland move there under whatever terms Las Vegas chooses.
There will soon be no difference at all. The next great move will be into virtual games where they can eliminate those pesky humans. Just send everybody to the stadiums to look at a big screen and the virtual game. Or better yet, just provide a virtual network there and let everybody watch the game on a 5" Smartphone screen. That appears to be popular already for those attending human games.
Yes same sport the city of Houston attempted to get by building Toyota center But that’s probably some real Rockets history that only certain people know @Hank McDowell
You tell me why the A’s are in Vegas NOW with an architect that built the MLS stadium for San Jose. maybe it’s just to hit up the stripclubs with Harden @Jontro maybe they want to Celine Dion
I almost became a hockey fan while Gordie and sons played for the Aeros. The NHL's refusal to include HOUSTON when absorbing the WHL ended any affinity for Hockey.
What are you trying to say? Vegas offers exponentially more of a financial windfall than any of those trash cities you listed. Nashville? Jacksonville? Are you ****ing kidding me? The Rays are good and they have a hard time drawing 15,000 to the ballpark, and that's pre-pandemic. If they move it'll likely be Vegas, but I can say with absolute certainty it WILL NOT be Nashville or Jacksonville.
These NL truthers can take their ball and go home. Wtf did the National League ever give us? **** that. I don't miss playing the Felon Cardinals, the Brewers, the Cubs, the Reds... ugh I just threw up reading that. Good riddance.
Are you aware they have an NFL team now? No fans last year, but if you are insinuating they will have a hard time selling tickets.... okay then...... I have to ask man...based on some of your comments about Vegas. Have you been to Vegas since these days:
The Austin Metro area is the largest in the US without a sports team from one of the 3 major sports. This is a city that has no problem selling out 100K football stadiums. Stick the stadium in South Austin and you will get San Antonio fans also.
That's exactly what I'd do If I were to locate an MLB team there. Austin would be the anchor for weekday games and San Antonio would be the extended market for extra week-end event fans. San Antonio anchors the (Spurs?) for the weekday NBA games and Austin provides the weekend boost for event fans. I've forgotten almost everything I knew about the NBA already. I don't miss it at all.
