twhy77, I am sincerely sorry to hear you've felt targeted for your beliefs. If some people get upset in conversations with certain religious conservatives, it may sometimes spring from the feeling that there is a pre-ordained limit to any conversation. Some people just say "well, here is what I say, and I'm right because I walk with God" or something along those lines. It can be frustrating if you want to discuss something. In any event, it never warrants an attack or slander.
No I completely agree. Its a horrible way to argue to open up an ecumenical dialogue between believers and unbelievers, to try and come to a better understanding of faith, or love... and then to just feel lame about it because some genx-er sits in front of his computer all day and discounts it a lame religious talk.
no edit, argghhh... I was going to say I can see your point, I mean I run into the same problem talking to other Christian sects as a Catholic because they feel we are waaaaaay off on stuff.
