If it is done to a person who is a known terrorist and it will save the lives of our servicemen or their civilians, waterboard away.

I am pleased to see the growth of basso. His newfound concern for waterboarding, drone strikes, the rights of women, and various other issues shows how he's gradually becoming more thoughtful and more active in those areas where power is so often abused.

I'm sure this isn't just politics, and that basso would be just as concerned if this was Mitt Romney's doing.

What is that anyways, other than baiting and looking for contrived hypocrites in some inadequate way to cover up your own hypocrisy?

Of course you would be. Anything to make it easier to kill a brown person.

    You're not even American.

I'm alright with drone strikes on the battlefield in war, but using them in violating sovereignty abroad and in violating constitutional rights here at home is a dangerous game, regardless any perceived or even actual positive results, imo.

That said, I'm glad they didn't hesitate to go after Bin Laden, though the act was a violation of a nation's sovereignty, so it's a complicated issue. I would say that was a unique case, in my eyes, but it seems to be a trend and that has to concern people.

That's kind of funny. Ignoring the humor there, who was loudest against waterboarding that is now silent regarding drone use in sovereignty-breaking and constitution-affronting contexts?

So if a non-American living in America on a green card gets suspected of being a threat to the nation, he wouldn't get drone killed?

So we can water board Americans as long as we don't kill them?

Although I don't agree with either torture or killing American citizens without due process. The difference between them is that one is effective, and one is not.

I presume you are insinuating that drone strikes on American citizens is "effective". Effective at what? And how?

Pretty much whatever happens outside the United States border to me is a completely different situation than what happens to U.S. citizens within the borders of our country.

I admit its somewhat hypocritical, but we do have 4th amendment rights and posse comitatus written into our law but which don't extend beyond our borders.

This is why I support drone strikes overseas but would NEVER support them within the borders of the United States...no matter who is president.

Can you refrain from sounding like a drone too much? At the risk of getting Miss Alanis Morissette blamed again, it's kind ironic.

Yeah, I thought that was a pretty well understood thing. An American who shows up in Yemen at a terrorist camp is fair game to get blown up.

This is how I feel as well. I support drone strikes in this way. I do not support using drones in this way within the United States like this. Our military should not be killing our own people within the United States.
