What about a defensive rebound that prohibits the other team from attempting a game-winning shot? Is that clutch? I think so. How about a blocked shot like Hakeem made on John Starks to stop him from hitting that 3? Clutch? I think so. There are so many ways to define "clutch".
well, in the lakers you know that the player that will have the last shot, is kobe, so how many chances do the other lakers players to being qualified as clutch. and I think a block could be clutch, (hakeem blocking starks) a rebound could be clutch, (not giving a 2nd chance to other team). and in the last seconds, you give the ball to your best player, not just because you think its clutch, also because its your best chance to win.
LOL why is that? As someone already noted, Kobe hit the the last shot in OT but missed 3 consecutive shots to put it away in regulation. That's 1/4 success rate or 25% FG in "clutch". Not only that, Durvasa and several posters already clarified that there is very little statistical difference between LBJ and Kobe. You need to read the posts again IMHO.
I'm more afraid of Wade than Kobe. Kobe will take some sort of fall away J but Wade will drive it in and get the foul.
There are just so many ways to make a clutch play other than shooting. Grabbing rebounds, making steals, blocking shots, taking charges, making passes, hitting fts, etc.
