good article: http://www.nytimes.com/2012/07/20/s...ls-and-international-fan-base.html?ref=sports. And LOL@Rice Grads and logic fails:
That's nice. The country's third largest newspaper quotes a freaking RICE GRAD, on sports nonetheless.
Some other great quotes in the article.. “Lin is smaller than Yao but very talented. He went to Harvard. He plays with his brain.” Pretty obvious that Lin is smaller than Yao. Good thing Lin doesn't play center.
“It seems like a lot of money for someone who’s unproven,” said Tristan Clement, 22, a recent graduate of Rice University who was with friends at a bar located near the campus. And Omer Aski, who is also getting 25m in 3 yrs, is proven??? 25m/3yrs might get you a proven player 10 years ago, not in the professional basketball market today.
Nevermind, after refreshing on the exact definition, I'm going to go with logic now. He obviously just isn't much of a basketball fan. Not sure why journalist decided that his attendance at Rice was a point of note.
You don't want them to go to Rice? Pretty sure one person from Rice shouldn't sway your decision on one of the better colleges in the nation.
Your Sarcasm Detector is broken, I would imagine. And leave it to a New York paper to ask a bunch of non-basketball fans questions about this story....nope, their personal agendas had NOTHING to do with this....riiiiight.
...and the name of the Rice grad is 'Tristan' so I presume that is a chic. For their next article on Presidential politics, they can go down to Westpark and ask some day laborers if they will be swayed about Mitt Romney's tax statements.
