There's nothing "Reagan-esque" about this. It's an authoritarian manifesto that says that no one is really republican unless they pass "their" litmus test, they being the socially backwards right-wing, discredited neo-con wing of the GOP.

The only voting record that even has a chance of passing this "test" is *maybe* Ron Paul.

i wouldnt tie ron paul to these jack-holes so quickly.

neocons want nothing to do w/ him and i dont think he wants anything to do w/ them either.

edit: actually, looking over the 10 points i guess he would pass the litmus test. he would probably fail on points 6, 7, and 8, but thats still 7 out of 10.

but again, the divide b/t paul and the mainstream republicans is so vast that there is no way they would ever work together.

    My answers:
    Yes
    Yes
    Yes
    Yes
Nope. I'm for another Reagan-esque amnesty, combined with a temporary worker program and real immigration enforcement.
Nope. I'm for cutting our losses in Afghanistan and getting out. I'm for declaring victory in Iraq and getting out.
I don't know what this means. I'm not for the US going to war with Iran or North Korea, I'm for lifting sanctions, trading with them, and hopefully empowering their people to overthrow their dictators. I wouldn't prevent Japan or Israel from taking out their nuclear facilities, either.
Meh. I really don't care either way.
    Yes.
    Yes.

Six supports, 2 against, one don't know, one don't care. I guess I'm not Republican enough, despite being a county party officer, fundraiser, whatever else. The RNC seems to be doubling down on stupid. They need a house cleaning.

Ron Paul wouldn't pass the immigration and national security stances.

    Care to address the hypocrisy?

EDIT: I mean from the GOP, not you personally.

This is so stupid Obama wouldn't be able to stop himself from making a Special Olympics joke.

Does this mean they support war with Iran AND North Korea? LOL What the hell? I don't think the National Review even wants that!

I blame Bush. A Republican-led Congress did the best we've seen in decades for the six years before he came on the scene.

Coupled with the best president of the modern era. I (more-or-less) agree with this. Thanks for the reply.

Unless the modern era began in 1992, I disagree with your assessment of Clinton, but it's irrelevant. All spending is authorized by Congress. To be fair, I shouldn't "blame Bush" for Congress's spending from 2000-08, but should instead blame Congress for rolling over and letting Bush have his way. But, you know, he's a uniter.

By the age of the picture, that looks to be either 1988 or 1992. I couldn't vote then. And I would have been a Kemp guy in 1988 and a Buchanan guy in 1992, so I might not have been as welcome at the RNC. I need to find that cap, though. Elephant trucker cap. That is awesome.

He's our most peaceful President in the unified executive era, I think it's a no brainer.

there was a little bit of prophecy in his farewell address. keep in mind who this is...a republican president and army general...

"In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist. We must never let the weight of this combination endanger our liberties or democratic processes. We should take nothing for granted. Only an alert and knowledgeable citizenry can compel the proper meshing of the huge industrial and military machinery of defense with our peaceful methods and goals, so that security and liberty may prosper together."
