Lets give Al Harrington some credit too. He had a monster double-double in that same game. 39 points and 13 rebounds. He kept the game competitive. (Lebron wouldn't have played as many minutes if the Cavs had won by 20.)
60 point games happen. 50 point triple doubles don't. Its that simple really, Lebron's line was way more impressive.
Lebron's line is obviously better but if Kobe had played the additional 7+ minutes that Lebron played then we would likely be comparing 70+ points to Lebron's Godzilla Triple Double. That makes it a tougher call IMO.
Why does everything turn into Kobe vs. Lebron debates? Seriously when one of those players does something great, someone has to bring that accomplishment down somehow. 2 of the greatest ballers today and we can't even appreciate it without this nonsense.
I think its more impressive that the knicks can suck so bad that yesterday ESPN.com was naming articles " how many pts will lebron score in ny?" Then bron goes into MSG and drops a triple double on you wtih 50 pts, d'antoni is fun to watch but that style doesn't win in the playoffs.
99ers are always right oh by the way, that was the highest point total in a triple double since the merger of the aba and nba. there are a couple dudes below Le Bron named Jordan and Bird with 49 points in a triple double.
more like lebron's teammmates were able to bail him out today with his crappy defense on harrington and ball hogging skillz
I think its a joke that kobe and lebron are allow to score or perform at a high level at the garden. Do the new york knicks and their fans care? I think its pathetic that every team that would face the knicks would be thinking that their star player would get a career high or something. I think the knicks better start focusing on not letting any star player beat them like that. Too bad houston lost to the knick on their latest matchup. Neither of the big 3 came up with 61 points or 52 points and a triple double. -_-
Get out of here Laker troll, your blatant homerism is a not welcome in a place for intelligent discussion.
More importantly how the hell did Kobe play nearly the whole game and not grab a single rebound? LeBrons stat line was more impressive by far but overall Kobe's still the better player. I benched Al Harrington
