So you are saying that NYDN is a trusted source we all should take as gospel truth? Would it strike you as odd that a NY "news" source with a shady background would have motive behind reports of a Knicks player that is potentially leaving New York for a town like Houston?

I've been labeled as a "McHale apologist" before. What motive would I have to not back this report? Why would I care?

And for the last time, stop F-Ing using the statement "You People".... You aren't any different than any other poster in the GARM. WE are all playing in the same sandbox.

if this is true we're ****ed lol

james is already out of the question, now melo, and love is still questionable if we have a chance.

this all turned from excitement to disaster within a week

Even though the Knicks suck I definitely worry that Melo will decide to stay. It's NYC, of course he would rather live and play his home games there than Houston... hard to compete with New York.

Is McHale still considered Top 50?

In the NBA, most certainly. If you included all the Assistant Coaches and international? I doubt it.

There are international coaches better than McHale (like Ettore Messina, Željko Obradović, Dusko Ivanovic, and Simone Pianigiani).
There are college coaches better than McHale (like Coach K, Calipari, Boeheim and Izzo).

And those are just the guys who are actually working as Head Coaches right now.

McHale might be really good at keeping the players happy (a vital component no doubt), but in terms of all the other stuff like discipline, execution, x's and o's, accountability, etc? There's a reason why the Rockets are looking to hire a defensive specialist for an assistant Coach... and it isn't because McHale is an Elite Head Coach.

I think he meant top 50 player, not top 50 coaches. But, yes, I would say top 50 all time player.
