This actually would be a pretty good trade if we know for sure hes willing to come play. Then we sign back Artest and Wafer. Then we trade T-Mac in a deal that gets us a backup center and a wing.
I'd say T-Mac to the Bulls for Brad Miller and John Salmons

    Yao/Miller/Hayes
    Scola/Landry/Cook
    Artest/White/Buddinger
    Salmons/Wafer/Taylor
    Rubio/Lowry/Barry

in this case Salmons would be our backup SF if Artest went out and Wafer would come in at the 2

or maybe a T-Mac for Chandler, Posey, and A. Daniels trade

    Yao/Chandler/Hayes
    Scola/Landry/Cook
    Artest/Posey/Buddinger
    Wafer/Barry/White
    Rubio/Lowry/Daniels

Posey could also play the 2 and same with Artest

or instead of Posey and Daniels we get Peja

    Yao/Chandler/Hayes
    Scola/Landry/Cook
    Peja/White/Buddinger
    Artest/Wafer/Taylor
    Rubio/Lowry/Barry

Artest would be the backup SF and Wafer could come in to play SG

minny is stupid for turning down this trade, i don't think they'll be able to squeeze NY Knicks with any talent better on what the Rockets are offering....

sometimes its better to gamble than do nothing at all..this is a high risk, high rreward type of move...Oh well,,,,,

People will forget about this pretty quick. Other players who have pulled similar stunts include Kobe Bryant, John Elway, and Eli Manning. No one is questioning their maturity. Even the fact that Francis fought his way out of Memphis is largely forgotten.

As long as he turns out to be a talented player, people will get over that incident very quickly.

I don't understand how you can turn down 2 starters on a team that was 1 game away from the WCF for an unproven player that refuses to play for your team.

Luis Scola and Landry are at an all time high. Paul Millsap and Trevor Ariza's value is an at all time high. But you dont see rumors of teams lining up to get any of those guys.

You'll read that and think "oh another Battier nut hugger" but I dont think Battier's some world beater either. Just saying its not how teams are conducting business now.

It's going to be tough for the Rockets to offer the kind of assets that would be enticing for a team like Minnesota. That being said, Rubio isn't worth offering any more than that. There's only so much you can put on the line for something like a rookie PG no matter his track record. Nobody blamed Charlotte at the time for picking Felton over Paul and Deron but look where it has them now. You could argue from his college performance and measurables that he was just as good as those two while in college, but unlike them he didn't pan out. So it's good of Morey to draw the line at Battier and Brooks.

On the other hand, I doubt Minnesota will get very good deals anywhere else. They've made their own bed, now they have to sleep in it.

For some reason, I just don't see Rubio becoming an all-star talent in the NBA. I could be wrong though.

he'll be pretty good if he's in the right system - ala he's a system player like steve nash or baron davis or guys like that (though i don't think he'll be as good).

that's why i think he wants to go on the knicks. d'antoni made duhon into a legit starter (i mean, chris freakin' duhon). he was all-star like on some nights for god sakes.

if he was on most other teams, i think he'll just pan out to be a decent starter in this league.

    but we'll see.

I don't think you're a "Battier nut hugger." Those that are have been more or less identified already. With the exception of Landry, none of those other guys you mentioned, to my knowledge, are being offered as trade bait though. But it doesn't look like anyone wants Battier as evidenced by the rejection of these trade proposals by Memphis and now Minnesota.

Wow, we're really willing to give up Battier?

If so, that means the Rockets will throw everything at the T'wolves to get this guy besides Yao Ming.

Watch, if we get this done it's going to be for Hayes and Brooks or some stupid crap :p

I just have a hard time believing this trade rumor. I'm not sure why we would think Minnesota would be looking to pick up Aaron Brooks right after drafting Flynn. I know, I know....Aaron's third year and the league vs. Flynn being a rookie and yes I realize they could possibly play together in the backcourt, but Minnesota has too many needs to be cute with their best trade asset. Seems like they would have enough suitors to find quality players at actual positions of need, not some interesting experiment to try out in the backcourt.
