IF the worst case scenario comes true(neither mcgrady or Yao come back AND are not traded)..the Rockets will most likely get the injured player exception for Yao and insurance from mcgrady. I think we are going to have more room under the tax than we previously thought.

notice that I said under the tax...going over the cap is meaningless...its lux tax land that we will try to avoid.

Rubio didnt say that. Blender was posing the question, will Rubio give Houston the Minnesota treatment and not want to come here and just play overseas?

If the bad news is real, I would imagine we're still pursuing this option.

One thing that couldn't really come into play due to timing on the day of the draft was a potential 3-way. With more time now (and Minny still needing to figure out what the deal with Rubio is), the Rockets could potential make the conversation more interesting by bringing in a 3rd party interested in a guy like Scola, and seeing if they could compensate Minnesota accordingly.

To much of a gamble for a kid that has potential but no guarantees that He turns out to be the player they project him to be. Giving away one of the best defenders of the league and an upcoming point guard for an unproven piece.? Makes you want to think what management has up its sleeve. High risk move.

The logic behind this as far as i'm consered is that it would fill seats because of all the hype around Rubio and would buy Morey time to rebuild.
