This is impossible to say, you need to decide for yourself cause there can be so many variables in this.

Which culture do you like better? Sf is more relaxed, hippy culture, liberal. NYC is more fast paced, work oriented.

Do you like snow and the seasons? SF has great weather year round.

NYC is going to feel packed, and crowded, way more so than San Fran. NYC might be the most important city in the us.

I would try to find a job first then go.

Having lived in Manhattan for 9 years and SF for the past 3 years, I would say go to NYC for a year or two, play the field and meet a nice girl and then bring her to SF to settle down.

San Francisco is full of educated, intelligent and successful dudes and scarce on women so it's very hard to meet a quality girl here. All my guys friends who got into serious relationships imported their women from outside of the Bay Area (SoCal or someone who recently moved here). Girls here have so much leverage that you will see nasty 3s getting hit on by above-average looking guys. So if you come to SF, make sure you BRING A WOMAN WITH YOU!

Ummmm I disagree....SF has some great women, and style that
is on pace withLondon..stylish women is SF...I don't know what your
talking about, also there is more to "The Bay" than SF, also, SoCal
is not the best place to meets chick, but then again, they're easy pickens
    so...whatever...

I live in NYC. If you can put up with the cold, there is no better alternative anywhere.

SFC is much better. You have forest, beaches, mountains and bars. Plus the pacific >>>>> Atlantic.

I'm wondering how you could be so lucky. Either one, man. They are both great cities. New York has a richer culture, in my opinion. San Francisco has a richer environment.

San Fran is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. NYC is one of the largest.

San Fran>NYC if you like the outdoors

NYC>San Fran if you want to live in a city with a godzillian people

Totally agree on the woman thing. Nailed it. Definitely import your woman to SF.

Overall SF blows NY away. Brooklyn and Manhattan are fun in small doses but NYC all the time? No thanks.

    SF for sure.

NYC in a heartbeat. it has a pulse and energy like nowhere in the world. hot summers, snow in the winter, Fall in Central Park, you can't beat it.

I honestly think San Fran would be more expensive. I've been in Cali for 5 years but only drove through San Fran twice and stopped for a day. so i was a complete tourist and wasn't really blown away. is it ever sunny there?

if you have a chance to live in NYC once in your life, do it now.

if you can make it there...

I've only spent about a week in each, but I liked NYC a LOT more.

Saw more violence in my first day in San Fran then I saw in my week in NYC, everyone in SF was generally rude (Not that everyone in NYC was nice, but I dont remember anyone in NYC being nearly as rude to me as the people in SF), the traffic was annoying (dont need a car in NYC), the public transportation in NYC is much better, and theres more to do and see in NYC.

    But thats me.

If I ever were to live somewhere else, I could see myself living in SF. Spent about a week there one vacation and I absolutely loved it.

ehhh...SF weather sucks...my fiance lives there and that is the only downside to an otherwise bad ass city.

I mean, if rain and overcast, along with 50 degree weather is your thing, then its awesome weather. But, her and her friends always say that the only crappy thing about SF is the weather, since it is consistently below average.

Lived in NYC. Never in SF but have been there.

If it was me....it would be NYC. Its just the center of everything. Hard to describe actually living there to someone who never has...but its kinda like living in the middle of a movie. Very exciting, especially as a young guy.
