This news depresses me. MY thought too. How could they have concluded the nanny has done it? Could she be a victim too? Has anyone heard her side of the story yet?
Having a career and being able to afford a nanny to take care of your kids when you aren't there means you are choosing your job over your family? Anybody working long hours is just an ass I suppose. Why oh why didn't this damn doctor and executive quit their jobs so they could stay home more.
You're missing voodoo's point. He's talking about how in their minds right now, they probably wished they hadn't gone the nanny route. He's talking about an emotional reaction that the parents have right now.
Probably no sign of another intruder, nanny had finger prints over the knife, had slit her wrists and was in the process of cutting her throat. Sounds like the nanny was coked out on something.
Look up Knoxville Horror, the worst crime of the decade and most Americans still haven't heard about it, so cry me a river.
Having kids like a lot of you on the site, it's the worst thing you could possibly imagine. My biggest fear is something happening to my two boys. My heart goes out to the family. Such a tragedy.
RIP for the victims. I don't hear many stabby nanny incidents around a nation of 350+ million people. It's statistically unwise to decide not having children for this reason. Keep in mind that our news loves feeding it's audience this kind of stuff. Peddling fear sells better than selling hope. The demand for Hope is seasonal. Fear isn't affected by weather. It's demand is inelastic. And it resonates as the comments have shown in this topic. We're very protective of our (or potential) children. Handing them custody over to a nanny or teacher is a sacred sacred act. So even the most rare violations of this trust have to be magnified out of proportion. Your (potential or real) kid has a better chance of getting killed in a car crash or illness than a stranger, nanny or teacher related incident. In fact, case of rape or incest usually occurs where the victim knows the perp, who's either a close family friend or relative. Such a world as that isn't much different than it was 50 or a 100 years ago. In fact, the chances are better today that they'll live, hang around until they're 28 and probably never ever leave you. We are a little too over protective. Which is a good and bad thing for us, but it makes our kids weaker for the realities outside the world we try desperately and failingly hard to protect them against.
holy hell, got dayuum. just googled this and watched a youtube vid about the murders after your suggestion. just don't understand.
The nanny was with them over two years. They even went on a vacation to dominican republic to be with the nanny's family. I dont think they would be mad that they made a bad mistake of getting a nanny.
I know about this but in this case, the people who committed that awful, awful crime were convicted to the following sentences: 18 years in prison 53 years in prison Life in prison without parole Life in prison without parole Death Now, I don't agree with the "there would be no story if they were this race" assessment as I think there would have been a story regardless of race. What probably helped propelled this one was the fact that the parents appear to have a high social/economic status.
This is why you get your parents to nanny your kids. I mean after a minimal of 20+ years of living with them, you should know at the very least if your parents are murderers or not.
