Now, why do you have to say something like that? Why do you actually make effort to be an ass?

We blacks have a saying, "media coverage of already solved murders doesn't bring dead kids back to life."

I bet she didnt even murder them. Could be someone else using the nanny as the fall guy.

Sigh. sadly, the same thought crossed my mind while I was reading it. I've seen too many SVU marathons :(

    Horrifically sad and weird story.

I have never heard of anyone stabbing themselves in the neck in order to kill themselves. What the hell was she doing?

I just find it so hard to believe that they could know this nanny so well and not see how crazy she was. But then again, all cases like this leave me thinking that way.

One news story says she stabbed herself in the neck upon the mother's arrival. Why wouldn't she just stab the mother instead? This part of the story is weird.

what would motivate someone to do this to children?

Perhaps the nanny was miserable and wanted to commit suicide, and saw the children as her own, and wanted to take them with her. There are cases of that.

Regardless, this is terribly said and i have not been so upset at a piece of news since probably 9/11. I feel for that mother. Just horrifying. Really horrifying.

I was watching CNBC when they broke away to throw a story in about a member of their CNBC family losing 2 of their children. I was wondering how the kids died, but now I wish I hadn't found out. That's sick.

Horrible story. And a person they thought they could trust.

Bet the parents wished they were raising their own kids now instead of relying on a stranger.

I'm gonna go hug my kids now.

I'm not sure why this is reasonating so much with me either. I've read plenty of messed up stuff before, but this one was even too macabre for me.

Judgmental are we? They both had great/ time consuming careers. Were they supposed to quit their awesome jobs that built a great life for their children?

Not a parent eh? Family comes before career or you are doing it wrong so yes as a parent you should build a great life for your kids.

I choose to raise my kids AND have a career. Most people do. Of course I don't have the need to live a block from central park and put that ahead of the welfare of my kids.

My comment about this horrible story was that I bet given the choice between career and kids these people now wish they had chosen the Kids.

It's a horrible situation and I'm sure they feel would choose kids over their careers now.

It's pretty messed up, but the reactions of some of the people here is kinda ridiculous. "I stopped reading halfway" Come on. Maybe it's because I don't have any kids, but this story did not make me feel any different then reading any of the other horrifying stories that come out every year.

The worlds a much gentler place than even a couple hundred years ago. Go google "Hanged, drawn and quartered." Violent crime has gone down a lot in the past 20 years in new york. We don't have the crack epidemic. In many ways the world is a better place for most people than it ever was.
