I will say with the Bosh crap, the Rox would get a mention here or there but it was always seem as a longshot. During this period, I constantly hear the Rox being in the middle of everything and IMHO have become the most logical destination.

    Interesting concept.

I would kill to be a fly in the wall during a conversation between Morey and Nuggets FO.

I wonder if they covet Budinger, Hill or Patterson like many of us do on this board.

Budinger and Patterson are legit young prospects who could help now and in the future. Hill, I see, as a long term project who, with the proper training, could be groomed to be a poor mans Chris Bosh.

I think our young prospects are a key in any Melo deal.Giving up Brooks or Martin is a given.

Yep, basically we can discuss anything and see if we can make it work.

After everything that has happened in Yao's recovery, I don't see them trading Yao. Plus, as mentioned, his contract situation.

But, if for some random reason Yao did end up in Denver, they wouldn't completely suck. Losing Melo will kill, but they know they are going to lose him anyway, if they don't make a move.

CB who can get you around 20ppg.
Yao who has shown to be 20ppg guy, but who knows now???
JR who is a medium 15ppg type of guy.
Harrington who put up 20ppg last season (With NY though)
Of course, who knows what players would be involved.

I can breathe a sigh of relief now. Even if we don't get Melo, I'll know that Morey at least made an effort to get him.

Unlike alot of people on this board thought, I think Morey is after Melo. The whole "he's not a Morey kind of player" was just hogwash.

Why would Denver want Martin? If I were Denver GM, I would take draft picks, young talents (Hill/Bud/PP) and expiring contracts (JJ/Battier) only.

They can always trade Martin to another team for more draft picks, young talent, and expiring contracts.

Another thing you have to consider is if you do get Melo, essentially CP3 could be a part of the package.

I could see a scenario in which Melo, under the table says to his new team, " Hey, I will get Chris Paul here, we talked about it during my wedding and he said he will play out the season in New Orleans and then sign with me".

Please give me a little more sense of what you mean next time. I don't know about your rules and who made them up. And no, I don't follow and I don't have faith in the integrity of the NBA rules that Stern and his gang have formulated, especially the implicit acceptance and common practice of making, or not making "superstar" calls.

That sounds like the best offer. Easiest to make among teams work because we can make the offers match any way they like or we like. I still dont see why the obvious hasnt happened when its there right in front of them? Is it really that bad to keep Anthony out of the West to them? Is it more important to them to get better with the best deal? If they are trying to make the deal that makes the most sense? They are dealing with the Rockets.

Who said it was such a bad idea in general? I said it simply wouldn't be significantly better with all the talent we have offensively. Melo isn't good enough defensively to add much in that area. We also rebound very well as a team, probably better than Denver, so I dont imagine he'd get as many rebounds here either.

And why wouldnt the team be loaded after trading for Melo? You can't really add a lot more talent along with Kmart, he's pretty talented himself. Picks, yeah, but we're not giving up more than a lesser role guy as far as roster players are concerned. You can bet we'll still have at least Lee, Brooks, Lowry, scola, and yao...all who either need some shots, to handle the ball, or both.

You should start a thread. Yao being done is breaking news. hurry!!

We really don't know specifically what Denver's motives would be in a Melo trade.

Do they want to completly rebuild and start from scratch or still give Billups a shot at a decent run to the playoffs before he retires.

A Billups/Martin/Harrington/Martin/Nene lineup could still make the playoffs under George Karl.

Not to mention perhaps some young talent with the draft picks we give them still or perhaps Budinger or Hill thrown into the trade as well. They accomplish playoffs and youth plus the picks. Thats everything they could have hoped to achieve in a swap. I think the deal gets done.

I look at it this way, if the MCNuggets want to rebuild and get some capspace for future Free agency then they should take the Nets package but if they want to rebuild on the fly and not completely start over then talk to the Rockets. The Rox can over established second tier ballers and draft picks galore along with capspace, this should keep them relevant till they can decide what to do with Billups, Nene and Andersen.

Bynum/Odom/Fillers for Melo/JR Smith or something close to this but I wouldn't think the Nuggets go for this. Odom works for a contender not a rebuilding process and Bynum has become an injury risk.

From what I've read the Nuggets want a trade with Nets but Melo won't sign an extension there. It doesn't appear to be an indecision on Denver's part on what direction they want to take.
