whoa..hold up...wait.... When did JVG and the Rockets ever bash Francis? Weisbrod and the Magic have been bashing T-Mac since the beginning!
This is one of the many reasons I was never a Francis fan. I realize he is young and immature (not necessarily the same thing), but he should know better than to break the "unspoken" rules of the game. Slamming coaches and players is the fans' responsibility. Francis' self-serving comments remind me of, well, many professionaol athletes and coaches. When you are rich and famous, it must do something to your mind, like Britney and Jessica actually think they are important! Class people in entertainment or professional sports, like Calvin Hill are not all that common. Class is like "grace," you either have grace or you don't. (Remember Elaine's conversation about Jackie O.) IMO, "Stevie" has neither. But, fortunately, he is on another team.
F Francis. This is the same Davis majority of magic fans wants gone because he cannot control Francis and Mobley. Go figure! F him again and his superbowl loving behind.
I dont really care what Francis says. All that matter to ME is that when Francis was on the Rockets I appreciated his efforts. Sometimes it was maddening to see Francis' shortcomings at times but still I enjoyed the Francis/Mobley Rockets era. With that said, I FULL supported the trade for Tmac because he is the far superior player and a player that can take this team to the next level. Has a much higher ceiling. I feel Francis is fortunate to be on the Magic, a team that is built for him to have success. For YEARS we all wanted to pair Francis with a "point forward" and that is what he has in Grant Hill in Orlando. It is the perfect marriage and I wish Francis all the success in Orlando. With that said, now in Houston we have Tmac and Yao. And we should move on from Francis and concentrate more on the Rockets future. my two cents.
I pretty much believe steve, Iam not too high on jvg.I have saw him lose games by his self with bad coaching, and nobody talks about that.
I don't recall JVG "bashing" his players. Unless you call JVG calling out Francis for not showing up for the team flight to go to the Super Bowl bashing? If it quacks like a duck, and looks like a duck.....
Like I said earlier, JVG has bashed his players all season after just about every loss. He should think about keeping it within the organization, or he should think about bashing himself.
When? Where's the quote? This year or last... JVG calls it like it is, and that's refreshing. I don't want to hear "they're a heck of a ball club and hard to play, they were hard to defend, bla bla BLA" JVG tells it straight, "We didn't rebound, our defense was horrible." I don't want to hear a coach give me excuses as to why they lost, but apparently some of you do.
Thank you, Gucci. I support the trade, but I never wanted JVG here in the first place. I don't think I've ever heard him say anything positive. Francis was on the money with his comments. Listen to how JVG slams Yao at every chance he gets. Yes, Yao's 7'6" but only been in the league 3 years and I think he's doing a great job. He came from a country that only had Wang and 1 other player ever even make it in the NBA and now he's the 2nd best center in the league. I mean give the guy a break - a little encouragement every once in a while rather than treating him like a red-haired step child could go a long way in building a stronger relationship with his players.
I heard Rich "The biggest Steve hater" Lord bring this up on 610 and it pissed me off. These are the type of people I have NO respect for. Steve made one little comment (which is probably 100% true) about our little napoleon and everyone is in an uproar. I don't have enough fingers to count the amount of times JVG publicly called out Steve and Cat last season without actually saying their names. Of course everyone is quick to praise Jeff for being refreshing b/c he speaks his mind and doesn't sugar coat anything. When Steve does it, oh he's CLASSLESS and CHILDISH!!! I am glad Steve is somewhere he can thrive and use his strengths rather than being chained here. Steve took waaaaayyyyy too much of the criticism and got very little of the credit. Let's get off his back already. I am proud to say that my new afternoon show is Charlie Pallilo's on 790AM. I can't stand all the 610 media haters who blamed everything on Steve but get on their hands and hands to blow David Carr and the Texans' horn. Peace.
How is it taking a jab at Barkley to say that he wasn't a role model? Have you guys never seen the, "I am not a role model" commercial? And I'm pretty sure it's true that Dream kept his difference from the younger guys in his last couple years. As for Francis, he's just like a lot of the fans around here. He needs to get over it and move on.
