Man who cares, let Yao and his Wife decide that and what's best for the baby. By the way if the baby is born in China he/she will have an American Mindset growing up in this country. Their child will speak, think and live an American lifestyle with Chinese roots. Who will the baby resemble the most, Yao or Ye ? .. Good luck to them and congratulations...

    2010-2010 Starting Line-up

    Yao, Amare or Bosh

    Lowery, Ariza, Martin

    2010-2011 Bench

    Scola, Brad Miller, Andersen

    Budinger, Hayes, Battier, Taylor

Yes AB fans, the rockets will trade Brooks along with Hill and all those pics in order to get Bosh

You are many years behind the times. Most Americans, when it comes to peoples of other countries know only what is presented my mass media. which is often very bias! :p

Stupidity such as displayed above makes me angry. China is pretty progressive so far as women's rights and social position are concerned, arguably more so than the U.S. In fact, Chinese women enjoyed considerably more rights than their U.S. counterparts before the 60s, before the second wave of feminism took hold.

I saw that too, its disgusting. I can't believe that the Chinese people would even say crap like this even after all he has done for his country.

Even though China does not recognize dual citizenship, the US does. So the child would still technically be a citizen of both countries.

This would give her more options for her future. I could see her playing for the China national team and having the flexibility to come and go from the US as a citizen.

I hope the baby is born in Mid-Flight in Russian air space. That would be truly lulz worthy.

I've heard this for years. Just as recently as last night it was on tv. Someone who knows China's laws should fill us in on how this will go down since we have to depend on bias media/news outlets.

    How about this?

Yao's kid will be an American and as compensation for this we deport Tmac to China!

No need to deport him. He'll be playing ball there in a year anyway, as he grasps at straws trying to stay relevant.

Are we positive that just being born here is enough to make the prospective child an American citizen?

Neither parent is a citizen, they just work\study here.

Some real facts would be nice.

btw....DOnt start with the political discussion re: China policy...that is D&D material, not for the GARM.

He can be an actor, like that chubby side kick in the Jackie Chan movies!

Who cares about Yao's kid's nationality, what if the kid hates basketball?

Just because your parents were good doesn't mean you would be good.

Look at Rod Stewart's son, he can't sing.

My understanding is citizenship is granted if you're born in the US, unconditionally. Your parents could be illegal and you'd still get citizenship if you're born in the US.

I could see a Mac and Chan trilogy, or possibly a Mac and Chan men skin care product line.
