My question is: how did Deadspin get hold of the hacked info?

Someone from the Cards leaked or sold the info to them? If so, the motive really is to send a message to Luhnow.

    CNN: Federal charges recommended

Per CNN, the investigation launched by the FBI's Houston branch also appears to be complete, but they are waiting for the U.S. Attorney's office.

You know, I'm all for suing the team for breaching. I just don't know about ruining a guys life with federal charges over this. Seems a bit harsh.

If he worked at at, say, Merrill Lynch and hacked into a proprietary database belonging to, say, Goldman Sachs...would you feel the same way?

Charges and banning him from baseball would suffice.

And give us their draft picks.

    Astros/Oilers/Aeros/Texas Thunder/Comets etc...

Yep the owners in this city have quite the reputation. (Particularly McLane and Les) They only care about $$$$ and have very little ties to the community. Even though they do philanthropic good deeds, it's really all about the cash.

McNair is also a lot like his friend Bud in this regard. Kinda sad but true the owners in this city have stunk for yrs and winning has always come 2nd/3rd in the list of priorities. Les has had some particularly dirty dealings in the uniform design and either him owning a NHL team or nobody does in Houston.

After reading this thread, they've had access since 2012 and tried to cover up their tracks. The director of scouting was involved in some way, meaning the Cardinals possibly had two teams worth of intel and reports on prospects and league strategies. Who knows how they used that info.

This is beyond insane ex-gf drunk posting on your CF account.

Give us Michael Wacha and Carlos Martinez and we'll forget this whole thing ever happened.

Why would the Cardinals risk their entire reputation on us? Like I really don't get it... I feel like there has to be more to this... They had to be hacking other teams.

I'd really like to know how far this goes, but I think Chris Correa would rather fall on the sword for the Cardinals.

I would also like to see the Cardinals fork over their non-compensation 1st-round pick...

How is this not getting any coverage on ESPN? ... MLB is going to be happy to sweep this under the rug if given the opportunity unfortunately
